Saints’ fans’ keys to stopping the Raiders: Who knew anyone needed keys!
Saints’ DL is ranked #6 against the run and #4 in sacking the QB. Raiders’ DL is ranked #18 against the run and #26 in sacking the QB.
Raiders’ OL is ranked #12 in run blocking and #11 in pass protection. Saints’ OL is ranked #28 in run blocking and #8 in pass protection.
We lose big we're never even close in this one. NFL still loves fucking us over. The more things change the more they stay the same.
Key to victory. A freak hurricane blows in out of nowhere and kills the entire saints team. That's it. That's the only thing that saves us.
We've had chances to improve through free agency and the draft and have done fuck all. The secrets out on Crosby he's going to get triple teamed and taken out of the game. We have nobody but him.
If anyone thinks we are going to win this game or even keep it close you need you tiny brain examined. It would be more entertaining to stick your hand in a meat grinder than watch the shit fest that will take place on Monday. BTW LMFAO RN at the clippers.
If you're up 24 -- 6 on the Saints at the end of the 3rd Q you can't go into protect the lead mode.
You'll lose 34 -- 24.
This is my Gruden fear.
Brees has become Carr..... 30 pass attempts and 15 of them went to RBs and TEs.... and only 160 yards passing..... and that was with Thomas playing.....
34 running plays and 31 passing plays..... Neither Payton or Gruden wants the ball in their QBs hands......
This isn’t the same explosive Saints team of the last few years..... Watch Brees try to adjust to jumping 3 time zones in September..... This is a very winnable game.....
The Roomba of Doom...ba?
Put your mind at ease. There's next to no chance we'll carry a three score lead into the 4th quarter in any game this year.
Next year is probably a safe bet as well.
So, no road trip to Vegas for you?
Not that I care, but you missed the point.
Did I really, though?
Fuck you Mark Davis you IDIOT.
Has everyone forgotten that Jared Cook is a Saint? How many guys like him have gutted Raider defenses since time immemorial?
Michael Thomas being out is great. But they still have Cook, Kamara, Manny Sanders, and Taysom Hill. Against this defense, that's a lot.
We'll put morrow on him, it will be fine. it all honesty that's why we brought in Littleton, he needs to earn his keep in games like this
What are you saying?
Watched into the third quarter on the condensed game feed. Brees looked terrible, Mr. Bundchen played even worse.
Really looks like Brees woke up and found his arm had gotten old. He missed receivers who were wide open when he wasn't pressured. And on several completions he threw behind the receiver who made a decent adjustment. The only thing that worked reliably was the screen game, and throwing to Kamara wide behind the LoS. The challenges on O aren't Brees but are Kamara in the receiving game, Hill when he comes in at QB they run option stuff and he's fast but will throw, and #11 who is very fast and small -- a perfect guy for Robertson to match up with.
On D, the Saints looked good against runs going wide, and got eaten up by Ronald Jones running inside, It will be important to see who starts at RT for the Raiders, but the Silver and Black O-line is light years ahead of the Bucs' line, and Jacobs is a far better back. Brady was really bad in week one, and without Pi he had nothing beyond twelve yards. That allowed the Saints to load the box, and the Bucs still ran okay. The Saints have a decent secondary, but they didn't have much to worry about week one. Against the Raiders, they do, so we'll see. I like the matchup of Kolton Miller against Cam Jordan, and it is always best to run at little guys like that early -- it just so happens that the strength of the line now is Hudson, Incognito and Miller.
The key to this game is the D playing fundamentally sound. Cle Ferrell called when he said the O-line had to maintain their rush lanes, and Jonathan Abrams nailed when he said the D had to come out fast and finish strong. Abrams is the intense and inspirational guy, Ferrell is the hold you accountable for the little things guy. Read your keys, don't get suckered by screens, know where Kamara is and assign someone to him in the passing game, and communicate in the back 7.
Losing Kwiatkowski is huge. What helps make that less bad than it seems is that Abrams is a very smart football player, and he spent all last year learning everything he could about Gunther's system. After Kwiatkowski went down, he was the one getting the back 7 organized, and he made a special effort to make sure Arnette was in the loop.
tl;dr Brees isn't scary. Raiders win, and a rout is far more likely than a loss.
