I’ve attended camp in Napa. Yes, a lot of older alumni. A lot of younger ones too. Even if the ratio is not as strong, it’s immaterial to ownership. If you are loyal to the Raiders, ownership will be loyal to you. Don’t confuse players who are still playing with alumni. If a player opts to burn a bridge in a separation, that is on the player — not ownership. Cuts and trades happen. It’s silly to pick a fight with this motto. I’ve read how other teams have abandoned even HOF players. Al supported his players. It’s one of his great legacies. Mark has done the same.
It just makes you bitter and confused. You can do all of that and still honor past Raiders via the motto. You guys are just hating on shit again.
Im not bitter at all. I’m realistic. This team gets the exact amount of praise they deserve from me. Just win baby.
Sure, but what does that have to do with a perfectly fine motto? You are just choosing to make fun of and find fault with it.
Its a silly motto I don't care about. It only fits players you choose it to fit for. "Fuck AB" -sleet "fuck Trent Brown" -sleet "fuck Amari Cooper" -sleet Its meaningless.
No, the motto is used to promote alumni who remain loyal to the team. It’s never applied to current players. And, obviously, it would not apply to those who view themselves differently. Your post misses the point . . . again.
The just win baby motto is a joke when the franchise that established it refuses to even try to win. Perhaps just win maybe would be a better slogan for this dumpster fire, steaming heap of dog shit football team.
"ONCE a Raider. ALWAYS a Raider" It applies to everyone who was a Raider. Thats why the motto is silly and meaningless.
Which lead back to this: “A foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds, adored by little statesmen and philosophers and divines." I find the motto very apropos for Al’s treatment of alumni compared to other owners. It has meaning to me. So it can stay.
Gabe Jackson on trade to Seattle: 'They win. I want to be a part of an organization that's like that' I feel ya Gabe.
Nonsense. The slogan was originally meant to apply to all Radiers alumni who were always loyal to the organization and loved the Silver & Black. In fact those kinds of players hated to be traded. None of that is true anymore in today's NFL.
So it basically applies to players who are always a raider. So it should read "once always a raider, always a raider." that just sounds stupid.
No. It’s motto. It’s marketing. It’s promotion. It’s perfectly fine. Go kick some other can. It’s not for you, a hater. So what?
