Fonoti fails physical

Well this just sucks.

Here we sign our first FA and the mofo is probabluy too fat to pass a physical. This is the rap on this guy. Over weight and injury prone because of his weight issues.

Damn it.

well, Bentley's gone, Mawae is gone, Hutchinson is transition tagged, and Fonoti is not fit to play. Are there any decent linemen available? The last thing I want to see this season is last year's offensive line

We're blowing it in FA. I don't care if people are overpaying or not . We're sitting on the sidelines while the good FA's (who could help this team) are snatched up. We have shit to show for this FA signing period and we aren't getting better.

You know. This is what you get when you scrape the bottom of the barrel.

I personally think we can do much better with the same guys we had last year (except Stone), but we'll need a solid kid to either start, push for a starting spot, or ride the pine hoping for a starting spot (note: that's three different types of draftee not the same mo-fo).

One of the biggest problems was the changed scheme didn't fit the personnel. Big maulers who had given up their fleetness of foot and mind to beat the stuffing out of guys were asked to move uniformly and think on the move and step back and sideways before attacking. It was a whole new approach and they had to think on the move. Also something they weren't used to doing. It was a freaking disaster.

Returning to traditional Raiders football will cure some of those ills and make guys like Walker and Slaughter more viable. How viable remains to be seen.

Bones: We got better prior to free agency when we cast off that worthless sack Turner.

One of the big things we'll do is look for those cast off by the big-dollar signings. Ryan Clark was cast off by the Redskins before they overspent for Archuleta. I was going to suggest we pick him up, but the farging Steelers snatched him up.

Yep, we're standing pat too much for my taste. Can't deny that.

Agree but you still need players.

That's the problem. We're too slow and indecisive.

Amen.

This is all a sign that we are bringing Woodson back, doesn' t that make everyone happy!!!

Sorry, too much sarcasm in the mind today.

I would have liked to have Fonoti....Stephen Neal and Jon Runyan are still available though.

I wa stoked when Foniti was signed and very disappointed he failed his physical. We needed that big, experienced, nasty guard in a big way. Isn't Runyan a tackle?

I was thinking that he might be able to play guard or replace Walker at RT if he doesn't work out. How do you feel about Langston? From the most recent picture he looks to be in good shape.

I think Langston is good for blocking kicks, and that's about all. I hope we get some better linemen sometime before the start of TC

Frankly I like Langston Walker a lot.

I think he got off to a bad start for some reason with the former coaching staff. I say that because in training camp two years ago, Turner was bragging how great Laqngston was doing and the next thing we knew he was riding the pine. What the hell that was all about I don't know. I think Langston should have another shot at the RT spot and I believe with a little help from Shell & Company he'll be fine. JMO.
