Gonna be a tough one since Atlanta lost their home opener. Julio is gonna be a tough one obviously. Who covers him? Double team is in order I'm sure
Isn't Jones a little gimpy right now? I thought that he re-injured the ankle that had been bothering him in camp.
Sanu had a good game yesterday but didn't he get dinged up? Matty Ice carved us up last time we played. Need to generate a better pass rush up the middle. I think Smith on Jones is a better match up for him.
Sanu is on the injury report with an ankle but isn't expected to be out at this point. I think our DBs match up better with these guys than NO's wideouts and hopefully we'll get more pressure on them at home. Raider nation will be fired up after starting 1-0 who is going to the game besides me? Their defense just isn't very good. If Carr and company play well and we don't get fucked by the refs we should come out of this with a W.
The team has to do a better job on defense (duh). Simple things: don't let the DBs play 10 yards off the LOS, let Carrie play the slot more (despite what people think Hayden still sucked yesterday, it's just that one of the calls against him was b.s); get the TEs involved, and blitz a time or five.
Expect a much better defensive effort this weekend. Seems like Del Norton is going to have to blitz to bring the heat unless they can get Mack going. Huge game here. We win the home opener and the team is guaranteed at least a 2-2 record going into Tenn and Balt. Be a big confidence booster going on the road.
Smith a much better match up on Julio than Cooks. Falcons OL not as good as the Saints. But they can run it better, Heeney/Smith might get exposed a little. It's at home, we have the better roster. We should win. Our O should put up 28-31 again on that defense.
I haven't gone back to watch yet... how much did we go with the Mack/Williams/Jelly/Ward front 4? That's just terminal to our pass rush, especially since Mack seems like he needs an interior push to be effective.
Yah seen that movie a few times. Tough gritty win on the road. Come back to lay an egg at home. Lot of work to do on defense so hopefully that lights a fire under their ass. Falcons defense gave up 4 passing td's to Jameis
Yeah Mack didn't sniff the QB until the 4th quarter yesterday. He had probably 2-3 pressures, 7 tackles I think. But he was held in check about the best I've seen since he's been in the league. Armstead handled him with ease when he was 1 on 1, he was chipped probably every play when he was over the RT. Irvin showed a few counter moves when his speed rush was thwarted, and he held up well in the run. Good stuff by him yesterday.
This is truth. I really hope we are past doing that shit though. But, you're right, I remember some of those eggs.
It would be great to see all three phases of the team gel together and get a complete team win. Something I did not see once last year. It is time to move up to the next level and put our stamp on the NFL.
