True, but I'd just be curious to see what their argument was.

Back in February I was poking fun at my girlfriend for taking it seriously. While I scoffed at her, she was busy going online and buying me a mask and hand sanitiser, which was no mean feat of patience while I teased her the whole time. And that wasn't because I didn't trust the science or thought it would all just be some fucking flu, but because I couldn't see how a modern infrastructure could be closed down like had happened in 1919 and didn't think it would have that much impact this time around. Mentally I couldn't stretch to it. Though even I knew enough to think back then that the UK government should start taking some steps to prepare for it all. Obviously they did fuck all.

And then, a few weeks later, you could hear a penny drop in Time Square, New York or Leicester Square London, or Red Square Moscow because the whole fucking world had been sent home. And it's probably the most stunning natural disaster I've seen in my lifetime, or likely in the last 100 years or so.

And it just seems to me another reminder that the natural world can be just fucking unpleasant and most of the time we get to avoid it but sometimes it bites us on the arse. Usually the lessons are pretty local - a tidal wave or an earthquake or some such that's horrible in a localised area but the rest of the world carries on. This time, it was everywhere and those governments and societies (like Sth Korea or New Zealand) that accept the notion that there's a natural world that has to be negotiated and accommodated have handled it well and bounced back well. And those societies and governments that claimed they didn't need to pay attention to science or any of that shit and believed they had an ideological framework into which the whole world fit ... well, those countries (like Britain, Brazil and the US) are counting the dead in numbers of five and six figures.

And then there's the conspiracy theorists who still can't see the lesson, when it's stood in front of them with a sign saying 'This is a lesson.' And I feel genuinely sorry for that 30-year old Florida bloke because everyone (politicians and media) should have known better and it's a shit way to realise that fact.

Politics aside, isn't it just common sense to wear a mask and sanitize your hands so you don't contaminate everyone around you? Unless they find some kind of miracle cure in the next few months, they are going to have to shut everything down again and make mask wearing mandatory or face a fine.

People still won't do it. They're giving out $300 fines where my mother lives, and people still are going without it.

You must be new here. This same thing happens every 4 years. Last time there was a choice between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump. Before that it was Obama or Romney.

Obama or Romney sounds normal. This shit is like being in an alternate universe.

Like what if a Kardashian's ass was running against Jay-Z or some shit.
 
They cancelled my sons college cross country season for the fall. Thankfully they didnt take back his scholarship money.

I think scum like Obama and Romney is an alternate universe. We are really bad at picking good leaders and it shows in the product.

Trump is really unfit to run this country another four years. That’s what it boils down to.

California announced today all schools will be online only this fall, Florida broke the daily record yesterday, NHL will now finish the season in Canada instead of the USA and Americans are not allowed to travel to Europe all because of high Covid-19 rates here. But Trump's latest strategy is to threaten removing federal funding from public schools that don't open and today publicly put out a statement discrediting Dr. Fauci. If I wrote a movie script like this it would never be green lighted because it's too unbelievable.
