After bringing in AB/Tyrel Williams/Ryan Grant/JJ Nelson I'm guessing he figured he was filling that production and some plus can run with a cheaper TE (Moreau/Waller/Carrier) that can stay in and help the OL.

Don’t disagree. But fact still is that Cook was Carr’s security blanket last year (under Gruden BTW...) and a very productive one at that... obviously that production will have to come from elsewhere.
