Bey area!!

But really, if he earns his pay, we have no business comparing him to anyone else. If he busts, be pissed. If he's good, be happy.

There's simply no way of knowing how anyone else would do in Oakland. We WILL KNOW how DHB does.

It is not the players fault where he gets drafted, but he may well suffer because of it. Personally I can separate my disliking the pick from the player. It seems like he has a good head on his shoulders and is prepared to work so I hope he can develop the areas of his game that he needs to and become a success.

When it happens, this day comments will be forgotten. Who cares or even remembers what was said when Huff was taken? Nobody takes responsibility now. In the meantime losing seasons come and go...

The Raiders had lots of high picks since the Gruden deal, still they' haven't been able to translate it into a solid roster. A few gems lika Asomugha don't justify the decisions Al made.

Even McFadden and Russell have a way to go developing into effective pro players.

Bey not only will have play at a decent level, he has to outplay Maclin and Crabtree; heavy burden indeed.

I wish Hayward-Bey the best, but I'm skeptical. And for the last 7 years, it has been the most sane standpoint.

Well said!

Just remember this: Everyone thought that the Colts were insane when they passed up a once in a lifetime talent like Ricky Williams in order to "reach" for Edgerrin James.

I don't think that's the best example as James had a hell of a college career in his own right. I think the reach would be much more palatable to us if Bey had shown more production in college. Most of us are put off by the fact that Bey, for all his measurables, didn't show much improvement throughout his college career and didn't come close to approaching anything that could be considered dominating. I know we all hope he turns out to be the player that the Raiders envision but I don't think many of us holding our breaths.
