I watched the 30 for 30 about Al and Alvin last night- I enjoyed the old clips and rehash / revisit of things. Fuck the Steelers. The ghost of AL and Pete was ...popcornish?

Anyway-thoughts?
 
Yeah the Al AI was Cornball to the fullest. I honestly thought it was some weirdo Vegas impressionist.
 
I’m not trying to be funny when I say it but they really did look like video game animations from 10 years ago. I hated the “deep fake” characters.
 
I give ESPN an "A" for trying something different, even though it didn't land well.

I am afraid that this would end up like Tony Stark creating Ultron.

We will have an out-of-control AI that signs over-the-hill vets to huge contracts and sues anybody who gets within sight.

On the other hand, he might vaporize Gruden, so it wouldn't be all bad.
 
Finally watched it a couple nights ago. Really good episode. Different, but good. The artificial Al face...it really seemed to vary depending on which way the guy's head was turned. There were brief moments when it looked just like the old bastard. Those were few, however, and, again, very brief. As a storytelling device, though, I enjoyed it. Twas nice to be reminded of long lost pro-Al pride.
