Without question. And why wouldn't it? We were drafting 14th not 4th or 5th.
One was in the probowl. Another one could be a good RT if he doesn't break in half walking to the practice field.
I mostly agree.
Said that in another post; Red pulled his weight picking 14th. At that spot, a "B" grade is the job he's supposed to do. At 4th and 5th, you certainly hope for an "A" grade.
I think anyone doing one of those 7rd mock drafts soon discovered how difficult it is drafting lower in the round. Your hands get tied really early. And this draft was pretty tough too. Only a few positions with quality depth, and not in our need areas. If you tried to match need, you reached a long way out. It was not pretty.
I think the myths need some amendment.
2) To me Reggie doesn't care about age. He is not afraid of taking older prospects and as you have pointed out he is not afraid of taking very young prospects either.
4) He does seem to value high football character and team captains (who doesn't I guess), but again he is not afraid to roll the dice on a guy with character issues.
5) I would say short term injuries don't phase him. As long suffering fans we are entitled to think short term and want things turned around immediately. He is a long term thinker which is what a GM he should be.
None of these change your point about WE DONT KNOW SHIT ABOUT WHAT REGGIE WILL DO.
Given that well taken point, the "draft contest" needs a couple of things:
1) A new Name
2) A complete revamped set of rules and expectations for somebody to win
@007 ... figure it out, eh?
Perhaps this rule change would make a difference: A window after Day 1 and Day 2 to reset your board.
I would say Reggie leans towards high character guys. Didnt someone pound the table for Mario Edwards Jr saying he was never a bad character guy, just poorly mis-used etc?
Not many of those guys have off the field trouble tho right? Cook doesn't. Edwards didnt. McGee maybe? But he wasn't much of gamble.
I dont see Reggie using a high pick on a guy with character issues unless its Aldon Smith level talent. And we didnt really even gamble much on him.
Also, did some say NICK KASA!!! Don't get 007s balls wet.
When the team is loaded with character and leaders, players with borderline character issues can definitely fall in line. That's part of what we're building here. You hear Mack and Carr saying they've kept in touch with Smith during the off season.
Are we seeing a trend here?
Kasa, Tay-Tay, Connor, Carr and his eyeliner and wrist tattoos...
Maybe HB is Reggie's Director of College Scouting.
Another myth busted: Giants draft #Beaf
Reggie gonna install special bathrooms for these guys?
New reigning draft theory:
