By my count our offense score 30+ points in 8 games this year. Also had games of 25, 27, and 27... all 3 were losses. The offense had struggles at times, primarily in the RZ, but I don’t see major changes on that side of the ball. This offense is good enough to win a lot of games. Even though I’ve dogged on Carr he played good enough to win a lot of games this year... I’m a fan of the QBs in this draft and wouldn’t shed a tear if we went that route but I’m actually okay with sticking with Carr in 2021 and going balls out on the defense. We’ll have decisions to make on whether we bring back Agholor, Trent Brown, Denzelle Good, and Incognito. I’d like to see us go after a legit RZ target like Allen Robinson or Kenny Golladay if they hit the open market. Also banking on Ruggs and Edwards to take big leaps next year if we want this offense to truly be elite. @007 brought it up yesterday but I don’t really see the point in paying Jalen Richard that kind of dough. Riddick comes in off the street and offers what he offers and Booker cut into a bunch of his snaps this year, too. I don’t see a reason for Witten to stick around. Waller/Moreau/Carrier is a fine trio. Witten was the 4th best TE on the roster anyways. On defense? Who the fuck knows. I’m expecting major changes coming our way once we bring in our DC. I’m cautiously optimistic but man it’s hard to feel hopeful about our defense when we’ve been such shit there for decades.
Mark, Gruden and Mayock are at a turning point. Can Mark afford to pay a DC after having no fans at home games this year? Does Gruden have the ability to land a quality DC? And can Mayock take the reigns and have the offseason we need? There certainly is a lot of dead money to re-purpose on this roster.
It should be interesting to see what we do anyways. I hope we’re out there making a shit ton of moves... I’ll be disappointed if we hang with the talent we already have on the roster and expect a coach to turn shit into gold.
Oh, we won’t be hanging; Mark’s still in his honeymoon with Vegas and is going to spend what he can to turn this around, and Mayock is going to make moves. But will Gruden get in the way? Lol
Blows my mind how little Hurst gets on the field when healthy. That grade is probably higher if not for that really bad outing he had when he hurt his ankle. Clelin Ferrell played some good ball this year. Sucks that hurt his shoulder, seemed like he was putting it together as far as finishing his rushes with more precision. He probably doubled his 2019 pressure total, possibly more. Was even better against the run. Much more optimistic for him heading into year three than I was this year. Made a nice leap.
He did have 60 fewer pass rush snaps this season compared to last (injury+COVID). Not great though. Crosby ended up with 4x the pressures..
Cle’s weird for me. I watch him and like the little things he does. Then I remember the reality that he’s a starting DE on a 4 down DL. I wonder if he ends up getting his option picked up after next year.
I hope he continues to effectively transition to an interior pass rusher to make room for a speed rusher opposite of Crosby.
Sometimes it takes a little while. Liked what I saw. Noticeable drop off when you key on other edge defenders including Crosby. He’s the one who should be playing LE. And we should be targeting a better athlete at RE.
That would explain it. Dude needs to wash his hands more. Wonder what exactly he did to his shoulder. Those tend to linger.
Maybe he can settle into the Michael Bennett role if we bring in Bradley. Other than forcing us to draft his boyfriend Muse, I like Clelin.
