NBA just released the new schedule. Games resume 30 July. As of now.
The hate came when Durant signed there. And then got a little worse when Cousins fled NO on top that.
I don’t think the hate factor is anywhere near where it was after Durant moved on.
And you gotta admit. Green is one of those players that you’re gonna fuckin hate unless you’re a Warriors fan lol.
I totally get the Green hate. He barks the entire game every game. The refs must especially hate working the Warriors games. He is the epitome of love him when he's on YOUR team haha.
With that said, people who think he is done are nutty. He just only activates when the splash is happening. Green just turned 30 and is fully motivated. These contracts may get funky by the end tho. Thats real too.
I have the Clippers winning it this year btw.
Durant maxed it out but the hate came in 2016 when Curry blew up. Old players couldn't stand that a skinny unathletic jump shooting kid was getting all that love and a good portion of the media and fans didn't like that he was taking some of LeBron's shine.
I hope Milwaukee wins it. I can't deal with Balmer or LeBron winning. Or Harden.
Got four months left to flip flop on the draft. Been watching Wiseman videos again. His floor is pretty high w his size & movement. He already blocks shots, screens and rebounds. His defense will be on par with the best NBA bigs with real size. Thats gonna be hard to pass up for the Warriors. His passing needs work and his shot (looks nice) is unproven. But the size, rim run, rim protect & rebound is there day one. Not sure why people say he can't help the Warriors next year. Maybe not scoring wise, but in many areas they need.
Looney is always hurt and undersized. Chriss is undersized. Thats it. Gotta find a big C for certain match-ups. Warriors will get killed inside with this group. Anthony Davis, KAT, Gobert, Jokic, Porzingus, etc and plenty of dudes who attack the rim stay out west (Bron, Leonard, PG13, Westbrook, Harden, Doncic etc. Embiid & Giannis in the east.
I think the Warriors make be smoke screening their desire for Wiseman. He slides into the 5 perfectly and keeps the starting 5 cheaper for more bench scoring. Future asset for the aging Warriors too.
That trade exception will be gold soon.
Yeah but I think as a whole, casual fans enjoyed (still do) his game. I know I do. I hated that Durant went there after losing in the playoffs (closely). But that’s on Durant.
I have read some semi racist stuff about players hating on him because he’s “light skinned” lol, LeBron included.
I can’t stand LeBron and I’m from Ohio I should be in the ”he’s better than MJ” camp. He just says too many idiotic things. And he’s a total hypocrite. Good player. Only thing on the court I hate is his fake ass flopping and dramatic injury reactions.
Exactly. He’s essentially a modern day Rodman. Hey it’s made him a lot of $ I’m not hating.
With the games still being a month away... who knows if it even happens or not.
Nice to see the trade exemption expiration date got pushed out to coincide with the new season timeline. Woulda sucked having to use it by July with teams still about to get back to the court.
Top 4 teams favored to win the championship:
Milwaukee is the obvious team to root for but removing them and Dubs fans are left with some shitty choices.
LAL - fuck them because LeBron and things like LA and Lakers. It’s always good to see LeBron fail and would be especially gratifying for him not not pass Steph in titles. That said, there’s a bit of the NE Patriots factor where you have to ask yourself if one more title is going to change things much.
Clippers - Another despicable LA team with added bonus of one that probably most closely resembles the Dubs as an eternally shitty franchise that finally turned things around. Them winning a title would be like the Chargers winning one. Leaving their hipster fan base and unlikeable players, coaches, and owner trophyless is always a good option.
Houston - fuck Houston. It’s not just a saying, it’s a lifestyle. No two superstars deserve a trophy less than Harden and Westbrook. On the other hand this title will always have an asterisk and that’s likely to hurt the legacy of LeBron and Kawhi a lot less than Harden/Westbrook. Might be fun to forever laugh at those two when they bring up their *ring the same way it’s fun to mock KD, Rondo, Pierce, etc. for making such a fuss over the weakest trophy in Boston history.
Who you guys got?
Clip and I don't even think it will be that close! Leonard & PG13 are stars. Beverly is a pain in the ass who stirs the drink. Lou Williams sneaks 20 points on your bench. Few other nice pieces and they went to the playoffs last year before PG13 & Leonard. Lakers are razor thin. I wonder which player gets hurt!
Better to export the title than let one of these LA teams get it.
I think Milwaukee and Giannis get over the hump this year. That's a real solid lineup.
I can't put them as a favorite until I see him step up in the playoffs. I'd put them as an underdog to both the LA teams right now.
Jakob Poeltl is a 7'1 C who is going to play for the Spurs due to their lack of bigmen. He's an interesting name to watch for the Warriors in FA next year.
Are you sure he's a FA next year?
I thought he's restricted and the Spurs can match an offer or extend a qualifying offer.
I only know because he was supposed to be a big piece of the Raptors/Kawhi trade.
Think your right. Saw his name on a list months back. Must have been bunk. Im always keeping an eye on marginal bigmen with size and defense haha
I want another guy like Bogut ideally. A smart defender who can protect the rim, move the ball, rebound, set picks. I could live with someone who can't shoot/score well. The perfect player would be Marc Gasol because he does everything above average. Good shooter and passer too.
Right now the rookies would be in summer league... shit is all fucked up.
I like Gasol but he is making like $25mm+
