I agree but still waiting for the investigation and ME report. I can understand anger directed at the PD and/or civic buildings. Just never understood the private property theft and destruction in your own backyard. You cant reopen businesses and help your local economy by burning them to the ground. Numbnuts
And while politicians pander for votes, businesses won’t forget. Insurance companies won’t forget. The hate being directed to cops will drive down recruitment and increase the asshole quotient in the profession. Law enforcement must be part of the solution. Losing sight of that is self-destructive.

Looks like MSP is going to curtail people's freedom

And I'm sorry for speaking bluntly, a person that signifies approval for someone saying "the only good democrat is a dead democrat (politically speaking)" is inciting hatred, intolerance, and violence. Sooner or later the cork is going to blow on things.

I wish he’d do better. I wish all of our politicians would do better. If you think the hate that has been spewed towards Trump from before he even got sworn in has not contributed to the polarization and radical behavior than you are not being honest. A politically motivated whack job shot up a Republican baseball practice for goodness sake.

Trump will likely lose the election b/c of this and COVID-19. From highly employed minority communities we got unemployed youths rioting due to bigotry.

I’d much rather Trump lose b/c I actually thought the candidate running against him for President was worth my vote. Instead, we got a handpicked candidate who represents most everything I hate about government.

They rather the whole country burn so they don't have to arrest a cop on his 4th shooting and 2nd murder

So over the top. Cops are not evil. Cops are essential. Humans can be evil. Humans in this profession at too high numbers can be too. That distinction is essential.

The outage over the life of one man is not unwarranted. Look what we are doing to save lives from COVID-19.

What’s odd is how little outrage there is in large cities such as Chicago and Baltimore where many men die every night b/c of crime. Hating on cops only increases that problem. Law and order is necessary. Fighting bigotry in law enforcement is imperative.

Taking the side of those castigating cops is counter-productive and not part of the solution. That will simply increase the number of Chicago's and Baltimore’s.
I disagree. Cops are nasty. All police departments have bad cops and when other cops turn a blind eye, it makes them bad too.

Example. When I was in 8th grade, we had a teacher who would hit kids, throw them and their desks around the room. Smack boys and girls in the head. It was loud and the classroom doors were open. Not a single teacher on that floor did anything to help us kids. I hold them all responsible and I don't have a sliver of respect for any of them.

President approves a message saying the only good democrat is a dead democrat and you say you wish he would do better and talk about the hate shown to him?

The Chicago mayor went there and said things like they need to be said in the coming months. She said to trump --- Fuck you. That is your debate this coming debate season right there.

Really? Guess you haven’t seen blight. Plenty of inner cities still waiting to be rebuilt.
I live in the suburbs of a city with tons of blight. I also dabble in real estate in that city so I am well aware of it. Viable businesses are more likely to be rebuilt than a house. Those are the toughest to sell.

You don’t like anecdotes in sports but you’ll use them to condemn all cops. Okay.

Well, guess what, you’ll get more of what you hate following your path. Hating on cops only drives down recruitment of good people in the profession. Your hate will increased the asshole quotient. Worse, the lack of respect for cops will only increase crime and violence and more of these awful situations. Hate is rarely the answer. And it’s not here.

what was the cops plan? stay on his neck forever? Nearly 9 miuntes, nearly 3 of those were after he stopped moving.
And he was aware he was being recorded...which shows the arrogance or culture...he thought nothing would happen...since there were 3 others around (1 is seen), I’d say they all thought nothing about killing the guy, video or not. You have to bring the Feds for a deep dive into the department culture...

Whatever, just don’t pretend it’s all one way. Heck, wasn’t the likely VP candidate the DA for this very precinct and as it’s Senator had plenty of opportunity to address this? Trump’s a moron. He’ll likely lose b/c of this. Apparently that makes you happy.

Seriously, name the last president on either side that approved of a message saying the equivalent of "the only good democrat is a dead democrat". I'm in the middle in terms of voter preference and I find this wrong. And people don't see that? That is when it is pushback time and the way to answer a thing such as that is to tell someone Fuck You and get ready to go.

Again, cops are SUPPOSED to be held to a higher standard. Why don’t we bemoan every person that gets shot in Chicago? Because they’re shot by fucking criminals. When criminals commit crimes it isn’t the same as a cop committing one.

They will probably be rebuilt.
True.....but why do they "need" to be rebuilt in the first place? Burning your own neighborhood
down isnt intelligent.....it is emotional.

You can vote any way for any reason you want. But if you are going to vote based on stupid or bad statements, I’m not sure there’s candidate for you. If politicians are disqualified for hating their rivals, well, where have you been the last for 4 years?

Bang that drum. Hold humans to a higher standard in that profession. Absolutely. But do not degrade or disrespect the profession. It is necessary and a good profession. We lose as a society by running it into the ground. Chicago is worse off for it. The US should not go down that road. Deal with the humans. But promote the profession. No good comes with the alternative. It’s just not in vogue or useful to win votes.
