Derek Carr has never finished an NFL season in which he wasn't Top 5 in dropped passes by his targets (26.8 per season).
4th, 2nd, 2nd, 2nd, 5th, 3rd
Razor blades and wrists right about now...
I recall last year starting off great with little of any drops. I remember posting out it. Wow, guess the wheel fell of there too.Mike Clay

Makes more sense.
That’s what happens when you throw to RBs instead of WRs.....Mike Clay

Ahahaha.

Doesn't sound like he throws the most catchable ball.
I was going to leave it alone but trouble shooting 101 is find the constant variable.
I believe that's referred to as "hating."
Ha ha. Yep, Carr the turtle pussy for throwing it 6.2 yds while Brees and Garrapolo are throwing it 6.3 yds.Neeedz moar weaponz!!!!
“His average throw travelled just 6.2 yards past the line of scrimmage in 2019. The second lowest number ever recorded since the statistics became available in 2015”

We can only hopeI do wonder, all the trade rumors on Carr during the combine.
Is there already a wink and nod deal with another team in place?
We can only hope
Like with who?? The music has stopped and the seats on the deck are pretty much full at this point. Jaguars would seem to be the only team that might be interested to bring in a vet QB starter (with a $20 mil salary) and that would be a huge long shot. Pats don’t have the cap. Jameis and Cam still available as FAs for a team looking to take a flier or grab a bridge QB. And that’s even before talking about the (lack of) sensibility in entrusting either a rookie or a new vet (Mariota) to handle and play in Gruden’s system without the benefit of either an offseason program and likely at best an abbreviated training camp.I do wonder, all the trade rumors on Carr during the combine.

Unlike like prior years, last year Carr’s short passes resulted in a lot of YAC. Carr was tied for 9th with 7.9 yards per attempt. That was the same as Brees as well. Carr also lead the NFL on 3rd down, you know, garbage time. I’m guessing his stats, just as his play, tailed off down the stretch though.Ha ha. Yep, Carr the turtle pussy for throwing it 6.2 yds while Brees and Garrapolo are throwing it 6.3 yds.
Turnovers affect outcome far more than air yards per attempt. Being risk adverse upsets fans but I’m guessing Jon’s preaching avoiding picks.Eh. The other side of the coin is even despite of the drops the completion % is still pretty high.
Turtle pussy bitch is still an accurate passer. That’s one of the biggest (if not the biggest) reason why he’s held onto a job this long.
That and he’s risk adverse, which in a way is good, but we know it’s also a huge part of his ceiling being lower than truly elite QB’s.
Im all for Mariota, Or Love, or whoever getting behind center. But you/we will see a decrease in accuracy when that happens.
But we will also see an increase of play making. And hopefully win total.
