2020 Free Agent class + Legal Tampering

Man I hope our sophmore SS can stay healthy... seems to me we got a few real decent players to up the depth quality... could be a competent D this year if our youngsters continue to develop... maybe have some reasonable sack and turnover #s for the first time in a long time
No shit: sacks (rank) / TO (rank)

‘14: 22 (#30T) / 14 (#30T)
‘15: 38 (#14T3) / 25 (#12T4)
‘16: 25 (#32) / 30 (#2)
‘17: 31 (#24T) / 14 (#31T)
‘18: 13 (#32) / 17 (#22T6)
‘19: 32 (#24T) / 15 (#31)

Every other year the D is absolutely pathetic in one or both in these impact plays. Only once in 6 years has Oak even been at least average in both.

The Nassib one seems the most questionable to me too. Seems like a lot of scratch for a guy that would appear to be pretty average. or not even that. One thing I really like though is that all of our signings are young, none of this over the hill vet leader bullshit.

Basically 2 years, $8m per which is the very bottom end of starting DE money excluding rookie contracts. He’ll probably give us what Dunlap and Michael Johnson gave the Bengals for years.

It’s not even that. His pay ranks #35 among edge rushers. He’s not even in the top 32 for vets. Too much is being made of his contract. We needed a 3-down vet and got the one Marinelli wanted. Good job Mayock!

Where does his play rank for edge rushers?

Agreed. He might be a step up Ferrell. Hope not but might be the case.

Can Nassib use that size in the run game? I was hoping he could spell Madd Maxx there and keep him fresh. Having two big ass bookend DE's in Ferrell/Nassib fits the Guenther mold.

The rotation was fucked last year. Id like to see better usage from the DL coach. Maybe our best offseason acquisition. He will have these guys playing up to par or moving on.

We should have a good rotation. Nassib is a good run defender . . . allegedly. Maxx came on as a run defender last year. And Ferrell will try to make a name for himself as one. :D

He's big, has solid production and is apparently a great locker room guy AKA gives full effort & wants to WIN football games.

Its pretty obvious they are building this team w guys who won't be a problem in Vegas. Im guessing a few knuckleheads to be on the roster, but its not going to be an inmates running the asylum type situation anymore. Gruden & Mayock need soldiers to fill the roster and then a few stars to make plays. You're seeing a ton of passionate and hard working types being brought in for a reason. Im cool with it. Cant have all Incognito's and Beast Mode's , you need a few hard working happy to be in the NFL types too.

Feels like the Raiders have essentially traded safeties (Joseph for Randall)

overall its a plus for both teams. we needed a coverage guy - they needed a guy thats not afraid to come up and hit because their back end has been soft for a while now.
