Fuck you guys. I just posted what the highest paid back up got last year. This is getting personal and I don’t like it!

:tantrum:

Come on man that was funny... you gotta admit it.

You are looking at the total cash paid. The original information that HB posted said base salaries.

Look under the base salary heading, its the first column after the team name, and you too will see that Bridgewater had a base salary of $1.25 million.

The significance being that being a four year veteran, you base salary is guaranteed if you are on the team after the first week of the season.
I’m not arguing with you Curly. I just told you want I did. I hit the link. When you do that, you see the same thing I saw and reported. Support Carr at your peril in BS.net.

Get on the Mariota train with me then. Personally I’d like to see FO and PFF type stuff on him over the years anyways....you’re the best at finding and putting that together for idiots like me to read.

I've only posted the same data you have that shows Carr at #6... it also shows Dak at #1. That's the one you cite the most. I've also called Carr 'average' and 16th best in the NFL pretty consistently since the end of the season.
No, you misrepresented what Kacsmar’s DYAR means. And why I cite it. Then built a post around those misrepresentations.

May the best man win. Love to see Mariota play like a #2 overall pick. Carr has played like a 2nd round pick, but to date, that has been better than Mariota.

Carr is right now. For sure. But I think sitting back and watching could have helped Mariota quite a bit. He’s healthy. He’s probably got a chip on his shoulder. And he has a skill set eerily similar to a guy that Gruden built into an MVP caliber player.

But the QB room may still get another addition.

I keep seeing these Hurts comments. And they are worded a lot like the Jacobs comments from last year...

As far as not wanting a player to do so well in the combine/pro day, fearing he may move up teams’ boards.

"The simple version: DYAR means a quarterback with more total value" ... literally from their site. I haven't misrepresented anything, only stated that it has flaws... which it does. Carr does not have more total value than Watson/Rodgers. Dak doesn't have more total value than Mahomes. If their data is putting more value to lesser QBs than there's clearly flaws. It's a piece of data to use but there's many other pieces that go into an evaluation as well. Mix it all together and Carr is an average QB. That's basically the summary of this whole debate for me.

Why do you insist on starting with a misstatement? Then you build a post around it. And now you’ve tripled down on it!

“Quarterbacks are ranked according to DYAR, or Defense-adjusted Yards Above Replacement. This gives the value of the quarterback's performance compared to replacement level, adjusted for situation and opponent and then translated into yardage. DYAR (and its cousin, YAR, which isn't adjusted based on opponent) is further explained here.”

DYAR ranks QB by how efficiently and effectively they gain yards for their team. It is not purporting to do anything else. Guess what? Dak efficiently and effectively generated more yards above replacement than Mahomes by comparing the “success on every single play to a league average based on situation and opponent.” Carr did not, but he did so better than all but 5 QBs.

Your use of “value” is different than Kacsmar’s use of “value” here, and you know it, or you are trying too hard to win an argument. If you can’t see the difference it’s b/c you are choosing not to or are lost in your agenda.

Kacsmar is not proclaiming who is the best QB. Why do you keep suggesting that? He is saying who had the best year in terms of efficiently generating yards above replacement.

DYAR is a yards based stat, which is adjusted for down-and-distance and opponent. In contrast, QBR and QB rating put more value on TDs, which is why Carr drops to #9 and #10 in those measurements. It’s really not hard.

The other misstatement was your accusation that I cite FO like the Bible. You said this twice, even though all along you knew my tier 3 opinion. At least you did not triple down on that misstatement.

So it's pure yards and not overall value, got it. His value is based on yards... so one piece to the puzzle. I'm not here trying to 'win' anything, just having a discussion. Like I've said, I don't value analytics as much as you seem to so I don't spend my time breaking down the entire formula. I've seen you multiple times post side by side the FO #6 and PFF ranking of #11. I assumed FO ranked similarly to PFF and even his own summary made it seem that way but as you've shown if you dive more it's pure yards as value... so, again, it's a very small piece to the overall evaluation puzzle and that's literally all I've said all along.

I'm here to talk about the football team we all love. There's differing opinions on the QB of this team. You're flat out wrong if you thing there's an 'agenda' here... I don't give a shit about anything other than putting together the most competitive team. I don't value the data you keep posting as much as you do and especially don't now that you really broke it down. We all have our opinions on how to become competitive again and I'm going to keep giving my opinion on how to get there.

Sleet has gone into what used to be the lone domain of @TheNextStep with the tl:dr posts

You going to just let him walk in and take your Championship Belt like that Stepper? Just do the Carr turtle in the corner?
In these turbulent times, We essential employees have been asked to make sacrifices...
