OK so what is your plan RE: QB

No need to trade up.
Fromm in late round one or early round two.
Jaime Newman in round 4 if he comes out.
Neither one will cost draft capital to get to.
Sign a FA vet too.
No faith in Glennon.
But Peterman looked good in pre season.
I'm fine with drafting a QB and not trading up. We just need to realize that these QBs will be developmental. Sign a veteran QB that will likely not a step up from Carr (or marginally better) and then wait for the rookie to develop. I'm actually ok with Fitzmagic if he gets cut loose from the Dolphins. Dude competes.

“My dearest mother,

I have recovered nicely from my battle wounds and I am ready for my next commission.

I will be taking to the high seas with a rag tag bunch of marauders led by a fiery Admiral with a very short fuse. His second in command wilted badly in battle and the crew almost took to mutiny.

I have been asked to lend my extensive battle experience in turning this ship around (pun intended).

I will write when I am able.

Your loving son,

Andrew”

Steelers are a testament to what you can do even without a “franchise QB”. If I’m calling the shots, I dump Carr and see what falls to us in the draft. Ordinarily I’m in the “don’t make a change without having a solid plan for a better option” camp, but Mayock did very well with his first draft, so I’d give him a chance to repeat his success in year two. Keeping Carr sends a bad message to the team. Time to move on. Way to early to predict how the draft might shake out, but there will likely be someone we have a first round grade on when we pick (our #1 or Chicago’s #1). If Carr is as shitty as most of us think he is, then I don’t understand the logic that says replacing him with a college or different veteran QB means we’re starting over and facing 2-14 in Las Vegas.

Keeps me distracted from the pain of thinking of Bridgwater or Tannehill

I did this kind of thing often when Aaron Brooks was playing QB

Oh, in that case I’d give up Ferrell, one of our DBs, and a 3rd for Watson.

RE: Trevor Lawrence

Get in line @kinz

I bet there is a 10 team tank battle royale in 2020 going for Lawrence.

I mean there is essentially no amount of draft picks that would make a team hop off the first pick if Lawrence or Fields ends up as highly regarded as most assume.

I think thats just as risky as going onwards with Carr next year.

How about 3 firsts in 2021 and a first in 2022. Think that would do it?

So Andrew Luck calls the Colts and says Viva Las Vegas

What do you give up in trade? And if you don't want him, I wish JaMarcus dreams on you for the rest of your life

Hahah maybe!

How are we getting 3 firsts in 2021?

Our two this year could bring us two in 2021. Usually picks a year off are devalued by a round. I know it is a bit desperate.

Would not stun me if Blake Bortles was a target. Before we got Gannon, there was a similar problem with throwing motion but an athletic guy. We aren't Lawrence with a mid-first but he's so pretty...

We have a game in plus 50 degree weather this week?
