NFL ticket

Same boat here. Renting their equipment and paying through the nose for it.

Unless they give me ST free I’m canceling (finally) this year!!

I sent Directv packing last year, not worth getting screwed by them anymore, Sunday ticket or not. I usually get the game on network TV as long as the donkeys aren't on at the same time, for the others I just used my buddy's Directv password to watch the game on the NFL app on my tablet.

Best decision ever.

Worth noting that the Reddit NBA streams thing got shut down late in the year. I'm sure streams will still be around but if they shut down the basketball one I'm sure they're working on getting the NFL one taken down as well so it might not be as easy to find them.

I'm in the same boat as last year. If they give me a good deal again I'll keep my DTV and if they don't I'll cut the cord.

Pretty sure the streams still exist, Reddit was just a place that had the links all organized. They're already trying to get other sub Reddit's up with the streams as we speak. The genie is out of the bottle on this one just like MP3 files 20 years ago. It'll keep getting pirated until providers change to accommodate.

I plan on dropping Directv (and NFL Sunday Ticket) after 10 plus seasons. Gonna use my in-laws Directv password to stream the games instead. Tired of the equipment, prices, and BS customer service.

No need for me to worry for this year as Raiders are local but I hope NFL ends the Direct TV exclusivity and goes for selling an online package in the US through whatever channel you want for 2020. Not going back to Direct TV (unless perhaps they get their shit together but I don't see it happening).

They already have NFL Game Pass that streams live games to other countries in high def for an annual fee. I don't see why they would need to partner with anybody if they can provide the service themselves and already do.

I wonder if you can do it with a VPN like I have now. Have it set to China or Europe and sign up that way. I’m sure everyone would be doing this if it were that easy.

A la carte is the way to go. Just pay for the games you want. Probably half of the Raider games will be televised out of market anyway.

Serious question. Is Direct TV better or worse now that it's owned by AT&T?

Probably better due to the bundling assuming you have AT&T for other services. Quality wise I didn't notice a difference when I was still with Direct TV. Xfinity kicks it's ass though. I'm still waiting to see how this Xfinity cell phone service thing goes over. $12/m a gig or $45/m unlimited per line with no other fees supposedly with preferred access to Verizon's network. Great deal at face value but I'm skeptical.

We switched from DTV to Infinity. I was using Frontier for internet and saved close to $80/mo. by bundling both. The cell phone service is what got me to switch. Switched my gf service there and its a lot cheaper that what we were paying at AT&T. Probably a third. If you don't use data its basically free. The only caveat was that she couldn't port her iPhone 6 there, its the only iPhone you cant switch over, so we had to buy a 7 but they gave us $200 visa card for switching. I think the phone was under $500. Its true, there are no other hidden fees or charges with the cell service. Guy at Xfinity told me its kind of a loss leader for them to get people to bundle their tv and internet.

DTV sucks in Fla too. Anytime there is a thunderstorm, you lose signal.

Is the cell service through Verizon's network there too? I'm super tempted since it would save me a lot but also skeptical about the quality.

I don’t see any difference in the service now it is owned by AT&T. To tell you the truth, the website seems a little more convoluted then before ..., but I only use the site to pay my $145 monthly bill. That $145 DOESN’T include NFL ST or any premium channels. Comcast Xfinity with 250 Mbps internet and 22o+ channels is $115 per month before tax. I think that is what we’re gonna switch over to.

I know it has been said before, but the thing that really chaps my ass is that these companies don’t do anything to take care of the customers that have been loyal. Gotta buy your own modem too ..., renting there piece of crap for $10-12 per month is BS.

Yes Verizon. I don't think she has had any major issues with dropped calls or texts. Like I said, if you aren't streaming data, your bills will be very low.

Thanks for reminding me about the modem. That will save you over $100/month. Xfinity programming is much better than DTV's IMO. In the end, they all pretty much blow

Edit I meant a year
