Fucking blows for KD. Nobody should ever question his heart again. Interesting that this was labeled a calf injury initially tho. Seemed like a month was a long time for that. I imagine that nobody in KD's camp would have cleared him if he were injured. It likely wasn't up to the Warriors.

I think he will def be back and possibly even retire a Warrior now. At the very least he will pick up his option and rehab here next season with the team.

The Warriors can win at home Thursday. Just make it to game and 7 and throw that house money on the table.

Damn I feel like an asshole for questioning KD's heart.

Its been a few long emotional playoff months following this run haha. I did the same wondering if he really was angling for FA with no updates. But in all fairness a calf injury is different than an Achilles tendon issue. Im guessing more details will come out. It was likely just gamesmanship not disclosing info

No way we lose 3 in a row at Roaracle!!! Right????

Well I think we all did to a certain extent. Dubs were tight lipped about his rehab and him looking at a max deal.

Horrible injury. Bob Meyers couldn’t even talk in his presser. He was so emotional.

Yeah they kinda set that up being vague with the injury. That said, I'm sure he was pressing to get back out there as much as anyone. Dubs are getting roasted in the media for it though. Just a shitty situation. No way anyone is putting him on the floor if they thought there was a chance this would happen. Misdiagnosed possibly? Who knows. I just feel bad for the guy. Stupid knee jerk fan reaction is that I hope we do right by him. He most certainly won't opt out of his contract now so there's a good chance he's a Warrior for life at this point.

Certainly sounds like someone effed up somewhere. There’s no way his agent and doctor would have rushed him back if they felt he was risking a career ending injury.

So he’s on a one year deal with a player option for next year?

He's technically under contract for another with a player option. It was a given that he was going to opt out this year but the injury may change that.

So he’s basically going to get $30mm for rehabbing for one year.

95.7 had a list of guys who cane back from Achilles injuries, Rudy Goebert, Chauncey Billups, Kobe, Boogie and most of them were out for a good portion of a year. Let’s hope it’s not as bad as they are assuming it is.

I do think KD's game lends itself to a better chance of coming back close to full strength as he doesn't rely as much on explosion as some of those other guys. He can still be a close to prime Dirk level player if nothing else.

Durants game is perfect for a return from this serious injury. Durant is an ISO shooter at the end of the day. Like you guys said, he can get his shot with very little movement or action. The Warriors should give him a 4-5 year contract and sit him all of next year. He will come back and still be a superstar next to Klay/Curry. That shooting will age nicely IMO. These guys create space for each other and get open look easily with ball movement when they are on their game.

Id show him loyalty and give him the supermax regardless. Ride with this team for the next 4-5 years. Do a better job of finding role players who can D up off the bench. Do a better job of finding scorers who complement shooters.

Im loving Tim Kawakami getting roasted on Twitter. You know he is exactly the type of narcissist to read every sub tweet too haha I fucking hope he never lives down that KD / Warriors hit piece. Fuckin filthy troll.

My guess now is that Durant resigns with the Warriors.

You never know how that kind of injury affects a player. Many team could be reluctant to go the route now.

What did he say ?

What did he say ?

He put our an article with no sources claiming the Warriors players and staff were questioning KD's heart etc. Saying shit like " who knows if he is really hurt" etc. Basically just stirring up shit like he always does. People are bashing him about the article after watching KD play his heart out and all his teammates and GM etc crying about him. Showed his entire article was trash and he has no sources or actual insight to the real behind the scenes of the Warriors.

He's been a clown shoe for years. Just good to see him getting his due.

FWIW, the GM from the Brooklyn Nets was on with Mike Greenberg this morning and he spoke to a few people around the league, and the consensus was that even if KD will miss the entire next season, teams will still be willing to pay him a multi year deal. Dubs are in a pickle, because if he exercises his one year option, you are basically paying him $30+mm to rehab his leg. Then no guarantee he resigns.

Do you offer him a multi year deal then and insure that he retires a Warrior?

One of the main reasons I refuse to subscribe to the Athletic. He's a bitch.

I think it was him that got caught stealing stuff from message boards years back too lol.

And then there was Fitz who got outed for creating ghost accounts and fighting with fans criticizing the Warriors.
