I haven’t done one of these posts in years, so forgive me if I’m a little bit rusty.

1. Hard knocks - I am fully aware that this will be an unpopular opinion and I am likewise fully aware that there is a whole thread dedicated to this, but... I really want the Raiders to be on Hard Knocks. First off, I am a fan because football entertains me. If football did not entertain me, I’d find something else to do with my time. With that in mind, do I want to see a show that goes behind the scenes of football and directly pertains to the team that I root for? You bet your fucking ass I do. Secondly, I find the hand-wringing about the show being a distraction to be pretty silly, really. This is especially true because nobody expects us to do much of anything this year. What’s the over/under for wins this year? How favorable is our schedule? Who, really, is thinking “Super Bowl or bust?” Fuck, yes, give me that show. Let me see Gruden get all red in the face. Give me visual evidence of Derek Carr’s respect in the organization. Show me the journey of not one, not two, but three first round draft picks. Give me that shit. I can honestly tell you that I have never seen a single second of previous Hard Knocks footage - wasn’t my team so what the fuck do I care? I will watch every episode, gladly.

2. Receivers - While I am encouraged by the efforts to immediately start building chemistry with Carr and by the reports that “he practices on a different level,” I’m still really nervous about Antonio Brown. Maybe I’m still traumatized from the last time we had “the best receiver in the game,” only to watch him quit, but I’m nervous. I think I’ll probably stay nervous all season, too, if I’m being honest. It’s not due to talent, obviously, but due to previously exhibited divisive behavior. It’s funny because our starters project to be arguably the best receiver in the game and a guy who is being counted on to elevate his game... and I have more confidence in the latter. Strange. Meanwhile, it seems like I’m the only dude that’s excited and has high hopes for JJ Nelson. Everyone seems to have already given that to Hunter Renfrow but I think Nelson, with his speed, could do some damage there. And I say that despite my previously confessed soft-spot for Renfrow.

3. Indoctrination - I recently read a Facebook post that said, essentially, that “if you believe X, you have been indoctrinated.” What struck me about it is that I saw it reposted by friends on either side of the political spectrum. All I could think was, “you’re both right.... and neither of you realize that you’re wrong.”

4. Scums - Thank you, Sleet, as “scums” is my new favorite pejorative. Tyreek Hill has been discussed but have you guys been following this Kellen Winslow thing? The jury is still at it and it looks like they will probably not convict on ALL charges, but they have reached a verdict to convict on several - including one count of rape. Full disclosure - I have never liked this fucking guy, dating back to his asinine “I’m a soldier” rant - but, even still....

5. Incognito - I want to believe the best. I really do. I am a self-confesses homer so it’s almost my duty to myself to believe the best.... but I just can’t see this going well. I just can’t shake the Barrett Robbins comparison from my mind.

6. Old Town Road. First off, it’s an absolute trash song. My boy Slim Jesus came more correct than this. Secondly, however, the dude has been so light hearted about the whole thing that I hope he furthers his success. It’s an odd moment where I despise the song but like the singer.... on a debut song.

Hard Knocks is over-rated. What I saw for free on youtube last year from Cleveland was pretty lame.

Incognito needs to be occupied with football to keep his head right. He had three good years in Buffalo with no apparent problems. It's when he got outside of the game he started to fuck up again. He's a risk I guess. I don't know.

I’ve never watched HK b/c I’ve never been interested in the team. I’d record and watch every episode with the Raiders. And, I’m guessing, other football fans would be interested in this team too.

Hard knocks I have mixed feeling for pure entertainment it will be better than the actual season. However if you notice if a married couple does reality TV 99% they are headed for divorce. We are at our most fragile moment and now with more clashing personalites. I honestly think it will destroy the little we have.

Keelen Winslow JR is the best college TE have ever seen, however as a person I suspect his gulit intially in every aspect.

Old town road it was cute the first time now I just cringe and hope to never hear it again

If you're gonna watch anything high on weed cartoons is king-Or MST3k

that's some weird shit... Actually I prefer video games or guitar if I'm going to get high. I did go see Harry Potter in 3D once though, never again.

I want our Raiders to be on Hard Knocks. Nobody wants to get their ass chewed out on live TV, or getting called out for each mistake...wrong route, wrong play. It is live tape that is partly an audition for another team. So, I think players will concentrate more, and practice harder. You can only pick up so much from the written word, but when you see Carr commit some dumb plays, miss wide open receivers, or not see them at all, then that is proof that can't be interpreted a different way. The way you practice is what translates onto the field on game day. Maybe this will get Derek's head out of his ass.

I dislike all of this gender and race wars. Lost a promotion because they had to hire a woman...they told me this afterwards so I wouldn't leave. So we now have Women's Day across the country, breakfast served, paid hourly wage while wasting three to four hours of productivity. I understand differences in pay scales, and that is wrong, but to overlook one person for a job just because of their gender or race is wrong also.

Baseball is a boring...boring game, and the younger generation is finding this to be more and more. Too many distractions like cell phones and tablets, and not enough time to sit for a three hour game that moves at a sloth's pace. I do cheer for the bay area teams, but cannot remember when was the last time I viewed or attended a game.

Other than a ball cap, I don't wear anything that has the Raider logo on it, although I do wear the colors. I find a lot of the stuff NFL is selling has no creativity and I find it cheesy. Just during the draft, I saw a couple of rookies wearing a couple of good shirts which I may buy. I don't how many feel like I do, but if the NFL changes its view like I do, then they would make more money.

I would subscribe to HBO if Raiders were on Hard Knocks.

However, I definitely don't want them on. If you are coach, you definitely don't want your team on the show. Coaches are paranoid enough but then you have cameras everywhere. According to Pat Kirwan, Hard Knocks management state they will omit anything that coaches don't want aired. Kirwan stated that doesn't happen in some cases. I want the Raiders to win and don't want anything to distract this team. Why doesn't Hard Knocks highlight the Patriots? Wouldn't it captivating to see Belicheck and Brady and the Patriots Way? We all know why they aren't aired.

Raiders will be on Hard Knocks unfortunately. I think it will be next year due to Las Vegas move.

only teams that don't make the playoffs go on Hard Knocks (for whatever reason) and so Patriots are never on.

Yah, its boring as fuck. I haven't watched a baseball game in a couple of years. Its Football, the Warriors and Boston Bruins. I just hope that one of my final teams bring it home this year.

I stopped watching baseball when they cancelled the World Series back in the early 90s. I like to think that I’m not the kind of person to hold on to a grudge but, having just typed that out, maybe I need to do a little introspection and re-evaluate.

I felt the same way about baseball for years. Used to go watch the A’s as a kid during the bash brother days but just lost interest in baseball altogether after a while. Then last year my brother in law gave us some A's tickets and my wife and I enjoyed it so much we bought a 24 game package this year. Tickets are cheap and if you are a member you get 50% off concessions and $10 parking. Pretty good deal and it's a fun crowd. Also nice to just chill and watch a game where you aren't super invested in the outcome.

And I can’t watch basketball. Shoot and score, shoot and score. Either add a goalie or make the games two minutes long. Not to mention the last few minutes take an hour to play with the fouls and timeouts.
