Going to see Shazam tonight with my kids. Looks stupid as hell but it's got good reviews.

Shazam was kinda corny but fun, the kids will dig it

Daniel, Johnny, and Kreese are all going to be at some DC comic con sort of thing at the end of the month. I feel as though I owe it to myself to go.

Johnny actually lives out this way and does a fair amount of radio spots. Supposedly a uber nice guy. You gotta dress up if you go though.

Actually, I think I’d want to see Kreese more than anyone. Even though Zabka has been in some of my favorites (Just One Of The Guys, Back To School, and European Vacation)

Can’t wait.

I'm actually somewhat intrigued by this one now. Most of the DC films have been garbage, minus the Nolan films and Wonder Woman (although it's ending was horrid), but as this doesn't play out as a superhero flick, it may be something to check out.

Yep. Lots of comps to the Scorses/DeNiro flicks.

Looks like the comic tie in will be with Bruce Wayne’s dad.

Yeah, saw those comps as well. I'll have to see another trailer to see what else may come from it. They're using one of the many Joker origin stories, but modified heavily, by the looks of it. Like I said, I'm intrigued.

Some of the scenes in the trailer are definitely referring to The Killing Joke by Alan Moore and Brian Bolland.

Brian Bolland drew probably the most terrifying version of the Joker. (With Dave McKean and Tim Sale close seconds.)

Killing joke is also most consistent with the character. It's hard to buy Joker going from some dumb jabroni to a diabolical genius. I actually just re-watched the animated version a few months ago.

As far as origin stories go, I like what they did on Gotham. The show itself has been hit or miss with some of the characters but I think they did Joker fairly well.
