Welcome to Oakland Trent Brown

Dumb dumb dumb. We blow a 1st and a 3rd on Tackles...only to admit what a clusterfuck that was and have to make Brown the highest paid Tackle in NFL history. Trent fucking Brown. Let that sink in.

I love it. Mack would’ve destroyed Parker.

Hefty contract.

Parker was a bad pick, move on. You want to plug him in just because of where we drafted him? Brown is a good player, even your 9er article says he was one of the best RTs in the league there. He can play the left side too obviously. I think Miller will be better year 2, KO won't be missed at all (Good played better than him) and Trent Brown is a huge upgrade on the right. And if Miller gets hurt or something we can switch him over to the left. This opens up draft as well, now we can focus on defense and offensive weapons.

All in all, the former seventh-round draft pick had a very good first season protecting Tom Brady’s blindside and blocking in the running game. Along the way, Brown proved to be a nimble yet powerful player that generally moved well despite his enormous 6’8, 380 lbs frame. Furthermore, he was a reliable option at Solder’s former spot: Brown started all 19 of New England’s games and also saw plenty of playing time in the kicking game en route to winning his first ever Super Bowl.

I posted this in another thread...but it warrants another post:

That isn’t to say that the Niners made a bad trade. Brown was not a good fit for Kyle Shanahan’s outside zone running game, and only played ten games in 2017 before going on injured reserve. He was called for 18 penalties in 31 games on the Niners, versus only five this entire season, where he’s played 97.3% of the Patriots offensive snaps.

I just don't believe he will be a good fit here. I have ZERO faith in Cable's ability to get the most out of his O-linemen or his ability to put then in the best position to succeed.

Trent Brown

The Patriots' starting left tackle is the highest graded offensive tackle by Pro Football Focus through the first two rounds of the NFL playoffs.

Brown has only played one playoff game -- New England's AFC Divisional round win over the Los Angeles Chargers -- but he sure was impressive in that matchup.

The 25-year-old tackle was part of a Patriots offensive line that didn't allow a single sack against a fearsome Chargers pass rush. The unit also created huge holes in the rushing attack, allowing rookie running back Sony Michel to tally 129 yards and three touchdowns on the ground.

The Niners knew Trent brown could do this. Elite pass protector. They traded him because they didn’t trust his mobility in their zone run blocking. Not saying it was the smart move, but it’s not exactly apples to apples.

We don't use the outside zone concepts, we use inside zone concepts

It’s good they admitted their mistake and didn’ t try to force feed him. Parker can learn now from sitting behind someone and hopefully become a serviceable OT but I have my doubts.

Mayock gutting this place lol

Okay. So everybody is drinking in the front office. We know Jon is. Oh boy. this is a train wreck. So $17 mil a year to Trent Brown? The guy who the 49ers with their horrible roster couldn't wait to get rid of just a year ago? Wow.

Raiders making him the highest paid OT in league history. Mayock isn’t fucking around.

I don’t want to hear shit from you guys that bitched about Miller and Parker :chuckle:

The problem is that this is compounding the problem, not fixing it.

Unbelievable stupidity comes out of this org daily, and there is no evidence that it's going to get better any time soon.

Settle down. :D

Thing keep going like this I might have to kick the Browns to the curb sooner than I thought. Well, probably not but you know how easy it is to get sucked into this shit in March.

Let’s wait until FA and the draft before we start lambasting Mayock. Give the guy a chance sheez

This year is about players for Mayock. With the right players, these coaches have no excuses. They'll gone if they can't get the ball to AB, or the most of TB.
