Easy to assume they do good work while being a little...well...zealous with their ideology. It actually was a surprise to learn they're zealotry isn't about the animals at all, but purely a product of their self-righteous vegan superiority complex.

Surprised me, at least. I foolishly believed, for a long time, they could be just as dedicated to their work as they are to creating the image of an organization dedicated to their work.

Turns out, you really only have enough time/resources for one or the other.

It's so much worse then that. They fund "animal activist" terrorist groups. They spread outright lies as propaganda about farms and pet operations (as in they stage some "awful" videos and spread them). They have the highest kill rates of pets they bring in (and its not close). Money donated to them goes to propaganda and "brass" wallets - not helping animals.

SHIT organization.

"No, you can't erase history! This is a slippery slope! What's next, destroying monuments to Jefferson and Washington? They owned slaves! Should we bulldoze the White House? It was built by slaves!"

For fuck's sake. Germany has Holocaust memorials. They don't try to hide what happened. But they don't fly Nazi flags from state buildings. They don't erect statues of Göring or Himmler in front of the Reichstag.

I just... I can't.... fucking hell, my brain hurts.
 
If statues are really the most pressing issues in this nation today then we are truly fucked. I understand completely that we can focus on more than one thing at a time but we are not. Every ounce of media attention is being directed towards Nazi's. Fucking Nazi's. Nazi's are bad. I have about ten emails in my inbox telling me that company X is against Nazis. No shit? Being against Nazis is the default setting for this country. It has not changed. How about addressing the militarization of our police force and at the same time neglecting to train them adequately? No? Maybe how millions of people lack adequate healthcare in this country and the half assed attempt to give it to some of them was done on the back of the middle class? No? Maybe the fact that our nation's men on college campuses aren't being given due process when accused of a sex crime? Still nothing. Still Nazis? Get the fuck outta here.
