Be nice to reward the Oakland people who suffered all those years with a move to fucking Vegas right after a 12 win season... Fucking loony bins follow this team...
City of Oakland knows whats best for those fans. Thats why Mayor Jumblies said no to public funds. How many years did Al and Amy try to get something done when the team was horrid. Easy to say no then. Harder now that the team is competitive. If Mark was able to purchase the land and build the stadium on his own. I mean straight up, outright own the stadium like Kraft. How bad would the state rake him over in taxes above and beyond what the team pays now? Thats an issue for business owners.

Apparently the DB coach (who was a hold over from Allen's staff) is going to take the fall. Wonder if Woodson moves on too.

Rod Woodson was only an assistant coach. Maybe he's calling the shots NOW for the DB's. He has a better pedigree than what's his name.

FWIW heard on the radio that Downing was probably going to leave to be an OC somewhere else if we didn't retain him. Writing was on the wall with some of JDR's comments to the press. I think JDR wanted to see us stay more with the run game which Muskrat would get away from time to time.

I just hope to hell he has a contingency plan if Norton shits the bed in the beginning of the season again.

Has JDR publicly come out and say that Norton will definitely be retained? "Hey Ken, sit tight bro. If we can't find anyone suitable to replace you, you still have a job"
I think that is wishful thinking.

Hard to figure what Del Taco sees in Norton unless maybe he sees himself in which case we've got the wrong guy driving the bus.

Well Wade basically took over the same defense and made them a SB Champion. That's all you need to know. Prepare for the same level of suckitude we have seen the past 15 years. Missed assignments, blown tackles, etc.

JDR is basically Al Davising the defense through Norton IMO. There's just no way that a defensive oriented HC was hands off with a unit performing this badly in the midst of a playoff push. JDR said as much when he was hired and it's been noted that he tried to implement Seattle scheme in Denver. People forget how long it took us to find a DC in the first place reportedly due to Jack's desire to so heavily involved.

We don't need a shutdown '86 Bears D - This team could succeed with a defense ranked in the top 15.
but if the reports are true that KC and others have deciphered our simple defense we will never get out of our own way.
Belicheat is playing chess against a bunch of checker players.

Well if JDR was more hands on the last few games, that's even more cause for concern. Here's a snippet from an article in 2011 when he was still in Jax.

To hold up their end, Jacksonville has to get continued stellar play from its No. 4-ranked defense and hope the light goes on fast for struggling rookie quarterback Blaine Gabbert.

The defense made a quantum jump from the 28th ranking a year ago. A couple of reasons why:

Mel Tucker, the former Browns defensive coordinator, was granted full control of the unit after two seasons of basically deferring to Del Rio.

• General Manager Gene Smith loaded up on defensive free agents who have made major contributions. These include former Browns linebacker Matt Roth, now a starting end in Tucker's 4-3 system, linebackers Paul Posluszny and Clint Session, safeties Dwight Lowery and Dawan Landry, and cornerback Drew Coleman.

Jack Del Rio seized the opportunity in last season’s playoff game against Indianapolis to stop coaching and start trolling. At least that was the view of Broncos’ fans watching in disbelief as Colts receiver T.Y. Hilton raced down the field without cornerback Chris Harris shadowing him.

The Broncos’ defensive coordinator delivered his worst performance in his last performance. Still, had Harris covered Hilton, negating chunk plays, it remains debatable if the Broncos would have won. The Broncos failed to pressure Colts’ quarterback Andrew Luck, and Peyton Manning couldn’t connect on long passes.
