The Las Vegas Raiders/STADIUM Thread

Third time.. say no to moving. Huge distraction for a team on the cusp..

What about Las Vegas?
Raiders owner Mark Davis has designs on applying for relocation to Southern Nevada this offseason, either later this month or in March. So what happens if and when Davis gets 23 other owners to agree to his “offer they can’t refuse”? Well, Davis has said he is going to stay in Oakland for at least two years -- the Raiders have a pair of one-year options to play at the Coliseum -- while a new stadium is being built in Las Vegas. Plus, Davis also wants to win a Super Bowl for the Bay Area before departing. None of this is a done deal, mind you, but as noted above, these are the plans. The Raiders must also figure out where training camp will be -- Napa or Reno? -- while potentially scheduling a preseason game in Las Vegas. The players and team employees will also be gripping with a potential move. The organization has experience here, though, as the Raiders practiced in the Bay Area during the week but flew to Los Angeles for “home” games in the 1980s.

Where is this from? Its kinda silly. The organization that has experience moving was over 20 years ago.35 if you figure when they moved away.Makes no sense.

I get he wants a SB.But a SB for Oakland before he leaves town? Makes no sense.

Napa to fucking Reno?

Sounds like a sick joke.

If the team is moving to Vegas, go play in UNLV's stadium. Oakland should tell Mark to fuck off and let his new city figure out where he's playing while the stadium gets built.

Agree. Davis can't have it both ways.

Pretty sure the City of Oakland will tell him to fuck off or maybe pay 10 times what he's paying now.

As usual Davis has few options other than to play at UNLV... IF this Las Vegas thing ever happens.

Since Oakland has been telling the Davis family to fuck off for the last 15 years it shouldn't be an issue

Another thing to look forward to in the off season. All the developing situations for Our new stadium. Can't wait.

Oakland doesn't want the Raiders, the Raiders don't want Oakland.

Don't play 2 more awkward years in a stadium that's supposedly so bad that you have no choice but to relocate.

If the team is gonna move, slap Vegas on the name and start playing somewhere in Nevada. Rip the bandaid off and get it over with. Fuck this whole "we wanna bring a championship to the Bay Area" nonsense.

Maybe the A's can start using the good locker room and not have to worry about walking into a sewage flood after games.

You're right. Just don't buy the whole "Mark is an asshole" drivel. City of Oakland and Alameda County been dragging this shit along over a decade. Everybody who can comprehend the english language knows it.

Davis is anything but an asshole. Dumb as fuck maybe but not an asshole.

He tried for 5 years to get something done in Oakland. They played him like a used fiddle. That's the problem...he did 't even understand he was being used.

If the Vegas thing is viable, get on with it. I still wonder if that is ever going to happen. If it doesn't there doesn't seem to be any other alternative right now. Just keep paying the rent and keep having meetings.

He never appeared to have any juice until the Vegas deal started to develop. Then all of a sudden everyone was interested in the situation.Oakland, NFL and the Lott group. So even if it falls through people may start to take him a little more seriously.Still there's nothing to see here until there is.

I don't think Mark is an asshole. I've said in this thread that he should tell Oakland to fuck off, as well.

I don't blame him for wanting to move. I blame him for choosing a caricature of a city as the place to move to.

I think he totally understood he was being played, but he was willing to deal with it if it got him what he wanted, a new stadium in Oakland.

Then he tried the NFL, and they shined him on in L.A.

Now he's all-in on Las Vegas.

If we can learn anything from how he rebuilt the team with McKenzie, Mark is patient and lets things play out.

Pretty much My feelings too.Nothing happened in Oakland So he jumped at a good deal.I don't want him to move the team. But well, there's nothing to see here.So if it's LV then so be it.

And watch Oakland cry how they were left at the alter a second time.

Disagree. And doubt the NFL would let them. Mark would likely end up in Levi if he had to, but I suspect he'll keep playing in Oakland.

Has the idea of refurbishing/renovating the HOT even ever come up. Shit, they renovated Soldier Field fercrissakes...

Probably a lot cheaper too...

I wouldn't mind it. I've said before that they should play up the history of the place like it's the Wrigley and Fenway of football.

As a football only stadium, it's not so bad.

If you're the Raiders tho, it's hard to stomach settling for a new splash of paint when you had $1.4bn and a new stadium dangled in front of you in a place that actually seemed to want you.

I had thought that was going to be the way forward...but when someone new gifts to 1.25B....and the old bag offers you no change....New Pussy seems sweet.
