***Official Day 1 Draft Thread*** (2016)

Not real concerned about his measurables. As has been reported, a LOT of very good safety's have been sub-6 feet and right around 200 lbs. Tatum, Polamalu, Earl Thomas, Ed Reed, etc., etc. If you can play...you can play. Plus, we've all saw his highlights, just straight up stoning (or, Tunseling?) fools. And not once during his career did he get injured (it was during a mid-week practice, non contact freak type thing). It would be different if he was always out with shoulder, ankle or knee injuries - that's when I would be worried. So his body-structure looks like it can absorb ALL these hits. I mean the cat had 42 straight starts while playing like a mad man..
Please educate me. The players you listed were 5'-9"?

Ya really going to bring up player height Bunyan? Really?

Didn't say anything about 5'9"....?

NFL.com has him listed on it's draft profile page at 5'10" 205 lbs. All the players I listed were either his height or an inch taller..

Why not? I'm not the one comparing great players who were not 5'-9" with a draft pick that is 5'-9".

Because of your obsession with our midget backup QB?

Were you always this way, or did the whole McGloin thing turn you into "that guy?"

Bottom line is when it comes to addressing weaknesses, no team has been appeared more decisive and aggressive as Raiders.

And with that...Happy Friday and Rounds 2 and 3!

JMac keeps it real for sure.

I could see this being where Elway falls apart. He hit on a few key players in the draft but free agents were crucial to their success and now there's no HOF QB to rely on to recruit. Trading up for an iffy QB prospect reeks of desperation from Elway.
Dude has a great arm and lots of raw talent. But he'll sit behind Sanchez, shudder, for two years until Sanchez gets hurt, he has a decent season when Sanchez gets hurt again, and some team will overpay for his potential in free agency.

I dunno man. I see the physical talent on vids. Consistently good brain talent is harder to develop in a QB.

We'll see if Osweiler is worth to dollars. But I think most people are not expecting to see him earn it yet, if ever. Houston figured he'd had enough development to be ready for the next level. He might be. But for him the next level is competent starter.

Lynch is several years of development away from that, but miracles have happened before so...

Did I read a stat that Lynch only completed 4 passes over 40 yards in his career? Seems fishy for a guy with a big arm slinging the ball around.
