Shawn Oakman

Lol.

He's a developmental prospect.

A piece of clay. Plenty of worse prospects have gone in the top 100 each year.

The top 10 talk was always off base, but he is by no means a terrible player.

As I get a little better at scouring through tweets and prospect videos and draft info I find the truth is always somewhere in the middle.

Not as bad as the haters say and not as good as the homers say.

Is Oakman a Margus Hunt part 2?

or does he end up more like C.Campell/M.Johnson/C.Dunlap?

For some reason, Oakman has brought to mind Charlie Philyaw. Want no part of that.

I see this type of argument a lot, and it's never once been compelling.

Why do people say things like this?

You know what I meant dammit!

Some teams will go for a polished guy with limited upside in the 3rd and other teams will swing for the fences with a physical freak pass rusher.

This year will be no different.

Better them than us.

Im thinking a TON of Wr's go earlier in the draft due to need. Not many solid FA guys and plenty of need. Good thing we locked up Cooper and Crabtree last season. Pickings are slim.

I also wouldn't touch Oakman in the first. Mid-second or third wouldn't kill me, but only because we turned Mario into something and we have a good culture.

ps- I bet Treadwell goes before our #14 if he tests well. But I could see Reggie going all GB and drafting another WR to pair with Cooper. Yes we have much greater needs, but if LT is the BPA we could debate on his worth vs how much we struggled passing the ball after Cooper was injured. We would have the nastiest WR core for the future and Carr would have some nice weapons to grow with. Im all over the place this draft season, I can make and argument for every position except run stopping DT, TE and QB. Anything else is fair game. Currently stuck on the Andrew Billings bandwagon until further notice. 19, powerful, hard worker, 3 downs, production, upside… sign me up.
After watching Carr throw that TD ball to Hilton in the Pro Bowl, I said to self, we need one of those take the top off WRs. A guy Carr can't overthrow.

Doctson/TCU

Doctson is 30 years old. Fuck that guy.

Will Fuller is the premium deep threat.

Sterling Shepard can take the top off the defense and can return punts.

Yes. Fuller is the premium deep threat.
After Smith from Ohio State ("premium deep threat") flopped for the Jets (before he got injured), I'm skeptical of that title.
