Once, I had to prove to a black friend/co-worker that the guy who sang "Golden Years" and "Fame" was white. We were driving to a delivery and the radio station did a double-play of those two songs and he said that he thought that station only played white artists. I told him that Bowie was (very) white, but he didn't believe me and said that it was too funky to be a white guy. We had to detour to my apartment and I had to show him the album covers before he believed me.

Bowie was one of a kind.
