She is a really talented kid. She has likely trained for competitions pretty much continuously for well over half her life. Probably 5-6 hours a day or more. Had her diet dictated by this, always on call for drug tests (that include shit like cough medicine), under a spotlight, got raped by some terdy looking dude when she was a little kid, and is under a constant spotlight. She has won golds at the olympics, world championships, US championships, local state and highschool meets that honestly meant more to her at the time than this does. She doesn't owe it to anyone to go out and make a fool of herself and maybe get badly hurt when she isn't on. Fuck y'all if you expect that. Keep your disdain for the murders, drug dealers, crooks (legal and illegal) of this world. This is a 24 year old who has done her best all her life and one time she didn't have gas in the tank.

No shit. Walk a mile in her shoes. She brought a lot of attention to an issue/shitty experience to which none of these kids should have been subjected. She earned everything along the way. The 3rd place American got to compete in the finals b/c she opted not to. Anyone who didn’t make the team b/c of her, I bet, does not feel the way people hating on her feel.

It isnt a job. It is a hobby. My kids are runners in high school. I always tell them that if it not fun or the work isnt worth what they get out of it, quit. It is supposed to be a leisure activity anyway.

And it’s why we all turn on sports. To see what’s the next issue the athletes will be taken up.

Might have something to do with the ratings tanking? I think the only sport that isn’t loosing viewers is the UFC.

You're right. I'd like to know what job she was working though. Someone paid for her housing, training, transportation, coaching, equipment, living expenses, etc, while she was training.

Her real gig must have been a good lucrative one. :D

I think she should. Least she could have done was tell us she didn't care before hand.

Might have been better to send someone that was interested in competing in gymnastics rather than becoming the poster child for mental health.
