2021 Offseason Roster/Depth Chart

I like Mullen. Needs to be more consistent. And needs to stop laying on the field acting like he’s dying every week only to be in a play or two later. I think we all have kinda noticed that. I always enjoy @gst8 comments when he does that shit lol.

I said that exact same thing a while back, after the Detroit game his rookie year I believe, and got my head bit off in here lol.

That’s a play they ran a few times with Beasley late last year and it got pressure a few times. I could see that being a game they run 4-5 times a game.
was probably me doing it too lol

Without Brown’s $14M and Jackson’s $9.6M, we have little to no cap space for an offseason. That John repurposed Williams’ $11M, not to resign Agholor, but to sign Brown, Drake, Snead and Reddick, is a dumb objection, especially when GB paid A. Jones $12M per year, Seattle paid C. Carson $5.5M, and Ari paid Drake $8.5M last year. Hudson is a legitimate WTF b/c it cost us cap space and was not about winning this year but about accelerating an inevitable transition to James, getting a 3rd, and saving money to absorb Miller’s contract extension.

Yet, every Raider offseason story begins . . .

“The Raiders have raised eyebrows with several of their offseason moves over the last month, including signing running back Kenyan Drake to a two-year deal worth up to $14.5 million with $11 million guaranteed. Drake was Arizona’s leading rusher in 2020, taking 239 carries for 955 yards and 10 touchdowns. But it’s Josh Jacobs’ presence that made adding Drake confounding, as Jacobs has rushed for 1,000 yards in each of his first two seasons.

It doesn’t appear that the Raiders want to move Jacobs out of his starting role. But head coach Jon Gruden believes Drake brings more to the table than just taking handoffs. “He can run it, catch it and return it,” Gruden said, via Paul Gutierrez of ESPN. “He’s a threat to make a big play with or without it.”

Drake was used more as a receiving threat in Miami, where he caught a career-high 53 passes for 477 yards and five touchdowns back in 2018. But he wasn’t used much in that capacity in 2020, making only 25 catches for 137 yards. Drake’s caught 169 passes for 1,244 yards with six TDs in his five seasons.

But he hasn’t returned kicks with any frequency since 2018, when he averaged 21.3 yards on 10 returns. As a rookie in 2016, Drake had a 96 yard kick return for a touchdown. He hasn’t returned punts in the league. Still, if Drake turns into the versatile offensive weapon Gruden envisions, then Las Vegas’ $11 million gamble will pay off.”

Would be nice if Edwards turned into the tough guy of the bunch. We’ve got a pretty nice group of skill position players. Expecting big things.

Waiting to see how the OL personnel/play shakes out. But the talent is pretty good at WR/TE/RB.

If we draft a good T and James plays well at C we should have a good offense barring a string of injuries.

I’ll miss Hudson’s consistency but I get it. Just like if we traded Carr and went with Mariota.

Most of this board has been saying we needed a better Rb2 for two years now. And I think we needed a guy at RB with better breakaway speed.

I have no problem with this at all.

What doesn’t make sense now is Richard on the team making a full Richard. He didn’t see the field as much as before last year, barring injury, he may not see the field much at all in 2021. I’d ask him to take a pay cut, if not, move on.

Neither Richard nor Jones makes sense given that I rather have Snead and Reddick and Day 3 rookie RB and WR prospects plus the cap savings than those two.
