Welcome to the team Henry Ruggs

The guys we take need 2-5 years of development and fans are expected to be patient and hang in there in Raider Nation.

Meanwhile guys like Claypool, Jefferson, Lamb, Aiyuk, Shenault and a boat load more roll out of bed making big time plays and helping their team.
How’s Jeudy doing this year?

12 games
23 receptions
414 Yards
18.0 Yards per reception
2 TD

We could have gotten some scrub out of the dumpster to do that.

In the meantime we could have taken a football player @12.

Good God. :shakehead:

Ruggs seriously only has 23 catches? Didn’t T.O. Have that many catches in one game?

Here is former college track star Jacoby Fords rookie year:

25-470-2

He also added 2 TD's rushing and 3 returning. And had Jason Campbell and Bruce Gradkowski at QB. He also didnt play every damn snap...

Who's fault is it Ruggs only has the catches he does? Gruden? Carr? The fact that Ruggs is a limited rout runner, primarily go routs?

Something tells me if KC drafted him he'd have twice maybe three times the catches.

A guy like Ruggs will only ever be a decoy in Gruden's offense. Gruyok did the team and Ruggs a disfavor by drafting him. If I'm Ruggs I hold out and demand a trade in year 4 unless something changes.

I think it depends on the QB and the coach as it relates to running routes. Drew Brees needs to know exactly where everyone is on the field so he knows exactly where to look for the WR. If it is Russel Wilson, route running is less important because he is better at improvising and will find the open guy. For us, it seems using pick #12 on a developmental guy is stupid. I think a guy like Lamb is much more in line with what Derek can do. Carr is not one who can improvise and if everything isn't perfect, he does not flourish. JMO.

He most reminds me of Jacoby Ford at this point in his career. He fails to make catches. He is really fast and that is about it. He left his hands in Alabama or wherever he played in college. So far, he hasn't been a good football player.

His hands haven't really been an issue aside from that one that Carr drilled that went through his hands for an int. Renfrow has had that happen to him as well. Carr has a habit of doing that. He has shown the ability to go up for the ball and make a play, albeit not very often.

His issue is his ability to get separation and Gruden and Carr's insistence on not trying to get him into the flow of the offense is the big issue right now.

I have seen a few go through rug's hands.

And I've seen a few go through Renfrow's hands. My point is that his hands weren't an issue coming out of Bama like his classmate Jeudy.
I haven't watched even 1 second of college football for about 3 years. I don't care how many he caught or dropped in college. Based upon what I have personally observed in the NFL, his hands suck. That is what he is until he shows otherwise.

I don't care what Javon Walker did in Denver. He sucked while he was here.

Ha. They didn’t throw to him that much. He was third string.

Ah jeeeez. Javon Walker comparisons. That’s not good.
