TV Discussion

Have you watched that Electric Dreams or whatever on Amazon? I noticed that it’s by that author you like an was wondering if it was any good.
I watched a couple episodes but I don't think it was good. I think they tried to create like a Twilight Zone type thing with some of his short stories but it was a fail.
There's a ton of good movies made from his books but I think they were trying too hard with that one.

I started Animal Kingdom a couple of weeks ago. Now I am wondering why I didn't watch it when it was being broadcast.

It's alternatively good and cheesy but I like it. It gets pretty dark in the later seasons.

I keep meaning to watch the Australian movie they took the concept from.

I've watched a few episodes. Stories are pretty good actually but the show itself suffers from the short format.

I recently watched it and that's what got me interested in the show. I would definitely recommend it.

That one's been floating around for a while. Not sure if the video mentioned it but the doctor about to operate on the child/baby Yoda had a Kaminoan uniform so it's clearly something to do with cloning. Some damage control on that cluster of a sequel trilogy wouldn't be the worst thing ever.

Another factoid... baby Yoda was born the same year as Anakin. There is speculation that they're going full circle with this thing.

Oh dear. What fresh hell could this be?

Dexter starts filming again next year. Ten episodes by the guy who gave us the first four seasons. He's apparently trying to make up for the abysmal way the show ended.

I'm...eh. We'll see, I guess.

I watched about 15 minutes of the South Park special on HBO.

Its uh, pretty out there. Even for South Park lol. At least from what I remember when I was younger.

I didn't know HBO had bought the rights to South Park. That's...I want to say "interesting", but it's really not. Seems like a strange choice of IPs to drop half a billion dollars on, but...time will tell. Maybe they'll allow the show even more freedom to do their thing.

...or not.

Hilarious that HBO is shit-canning 4 or 5 episodes (reports vary) due to content. They were okay to air on a free cable network, but they're too much for the premium movie channel that owns Skinamax?

Oh. Okay. Those episodes "contain depictions of the prophet Muhammad." Well, we certainly can't have that.

Way to go, HBO. Sackless cµnts.

I can kind of understand that decision from a safety perspective but it also repulses me.

"Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety."

Little more than empty bumper sticker rhetoric these days, and easy to say from my position of relative safety...
It would take a great deal of effort for me to even be noticed by, let alone be at risk of reprisal from, the more pious defenders of the Religion of Peace.

...but it still has a lotta merit.

I can't blame someone for being afraid of these garbage people. It's a rational response to the prospect of decapitation, or seeing someone else decapitated in response to your decision to not bend the knee.

But, I also can't respect the people who choose appeasement, no matter their reasoning. All it does is guarantee more of the same from an emboldened group of bottom feeders.

But, it's whatever.

There is a lot of irony in the world today.

And that’s all I’m going to say about that.

It's the bye week, Forrest. I'm gonna need you to flesh these thoughts out while there's no Raider football. We need content.

The primarily weapon against oppression is oppression.

And people embrace it.

Entirely too dramatic for the conversation but you know I don’t miss an opportunity for a Star Wars reference...
