Training Camp

Looking doubtful MLB will be playing much longer.

The NFL still in denial I see. :chuckle:
COVID awaits its next round of pro sports to acquire hosts. Next up: NFL

:sneak:
MLB’s season could be in jeopardy if teams and players can’t contain the coronavirus, commissioner Rob Manfred is warning, just a week after opening day.

And the shutdown could happen as soon as Monday.

According to ESPN’s Jeff Passan, Manfred sent this warning to the players union on Friday — at the conclusion of a week that’s seen the league ravaged by positive tests. The Miami Marlins and Philadelphia Phillies have their seasons on pause after a rash of positive tests. On Friday alone, six teams aren’t playing games because of the wide-ranging effects of players testing positive. The St. Louis Cardinals were the latest team impacted, with two positive tests announced Friday.

If they want it to work they need to treat the whole season like training camp

so I'm researching and stumble upon Wiki..

Non bubble sports are done.

Give it up already
Idiot players think they can go to a strip club and not test positive, or if they test positive, so what? Well, they might have just killed their paychecks. Or was the Union able to protect paychecks and guaranteed contracts regardless of whether stupidly killed an already shortened season?

Good point.

I forget how it all went down but I remember arguing that the whole fiasco seemed weird. The product on the field sucked and the players were on twitter or in the news every damn day saying or doing something dumb.

I mean Rodgers Cromartie was the biggest flag for me. He retired to escape our team and then unretired a month later to play for the fucking Redskins I think? Who was the LB who retired and shit all over us on twitter? Derrick Johnson from the Chiefs? There were a couple of those guys in a group twitter chat going off hahaha. Jordy Nelson screaming "I'm fucking done here!" after a loss hahaha.

Hopefully we're past that now. These young guys seemed to have bought in now. Hopefully we feel like paying our good players in a few years...

We'll see, but what @CrossBones says about the owner usually is the reason for shit like this.

This is supposedly why Gruden was hired, to bridge that gap, but usually you can't overcome ownership and how the employees see things there at the end of the day.

Man, I was all about Martavis Bryant, that motherfucker. If anything good can be said, watching him flame out really tempered my expectations once AB started to show red flags.

Never liked the fit. Plus, he had already missed a whole year with a quality organization because he couldn't put the bong down. Coming to our shitshow was supposed to do what for those prospects of sobriety?

Down one Donk, I’m guessing.

RT @VinnyBonsignore: Just an FYI: Results from @Raiders second round of COVID-19 testing for veterans is expected sometime around 2 am Saturday. Raiders will have a clear understanding of where the roster is, healthwise, by morning.

Certainly by no later than August 16, but Vic makes it sound like sooner.

Expect the Raiders to get down to 80 players pretty soon after the results are back.

Hill looks washed up to me, but he could be a decent backup for Jacobs if he has anything in the tank.

I just doubt he does. He's looked terrible the last few times he's played. He also brings no value to STs.

Seems like one of those guys who doesn't take care of his body, and once the injuries started, it was all over for him.

Guess Gruock’s not confident that a better RB would shake free when every team got down to 80 players.

They should send all NFL teams to Orlando just like the NBA and put them in the resorts and have them play here. Disney wide world of sports has or had no less than 10 football fields on site then you still have other big stadiums in the area if they so choose from the citrus bowl, to UCF stadium. You could easily travel to Tampa and Jax in under two hours as well if you really wanted the NFL stadium feel.

If they really want to have a NFL season I think this is the easiest way to do it.

Yup.

Televise it all day for that sweet cash. Put the prime time games in the stadium if you want and play the rest without fans.

Some team traveling across the country this year is gonna have 10 guys get infected the night before a game.

Or they just need a warm body to fill in for Booker while he's out with the plague.
They’ve got 5 RB on the roster w/o Booker. A 6th is needed to do drills? Make Bowden take double reps. Not buying the warm body theory. Hill also is nothing like Booker . . . except that neither is likely going to make the team.

Trimming down from 90 to 80 just keeps getting easier.
