50k in a city that size is crazy. Can’t even fathom it for what they deal with. Explains a lot though.

BTW - the VA is it’s own entity separate from the military when it comes to budget. The local VSO actually falls under the department I work in. It’s actually the division that gets put up for the most funding cuts because we know the board of supervisors will never green light cutting services to veterans.

I can well imagine that a governor might think that active military will worsen the situation and not want them. That would be an interesting next step in this fiasco. If this happens it will be hard to distinguish this from an armed federal occupation of a state. A comment such as Trumps to not follow an unjust law, if then made by a governor, could become very interesting.

Would US troops fire on a peaceful demonstration by US citizens contrary to a curfew or order to not congregate?

Just got an alert in Santa Clarita (where I live) that on Thursday there is a permitted protest of 800 people being bussed in. Apparently we need help protesting here.
