Thought we should have a thread for what's coming soon....the '20 sched is supposed to be released May 9 and at this point if it wasn't coming they'd of already said so.

In '19, we had 2 'primetime' games on national TV, but with the new stadium, and especially one supported by a city which contributed $750mil, the NFL is surely gonna go out of it's way to add attention and circumstance to our diggs. I think it's safe to say we should at a minimum either match or exceed last years national games, but my gut tells me it's gonna be 5!

The lead LVRJ beatwriter is already speculating on how he thinks the first game could go...https://twitter.com/VinnyBonsignore/status/1257082548179501056

Personally, I think that's not only a pretty good guess but could possibly be a little 'unofficial' insight he's been leaked. And it's not like it would be much of a stretch, we've helped to kickoff the past two seasons as the second game of the MNF doubleheader, vs Rams in '18 and Donks in '19. Both at Oakland. Not much of a stretch to them returning us to that national game to close out the weekend, also highlighting Marsha and her new team along the way.

The other good news however could be that, in light of all the changes and uncertainties due to the 'Rona, it's likely that the sched makers also give us mulitple games throughout the year to ensure that if there are changes, our stadium and new city are recognized and celebrated multiple times. My guess is, we end up with 5 total primetime 'national' games, with a crazy FOUR at home and one away. The NFL knows what a unicorn looks like, it's a $2 billion dollar Death Star whose costs were nearly split by public funds. In fact, that's more than a unicorn these days and in the years ahead, it's a unicorn with testicles of gold! What happened in Vegas, in this case, is not something they want to 'stay' in Vegas. So it's in the NFL's best interest, hate for the Raiders or not, to put our new palace on full viral display, and the best way to do that is to scatter us throughout the year all over the national spotlight.

As a precursor, here's our '20 opponents:
Just focusing on the 'Home' teams, the Chefs and Bucs jump out as the most intriguing story lines for a week one matchup, but with KC coming off a SB and playing in the 'kickoff' game, that would leave either the Bucs or possibly Bills/Saints/Colts as the next most interesting options to open with.

Considering the options, if in fact the NFL does decide to once again include us in the opening weekend MNF sched, it's hard to find a more intriguing story than the Bucs and Marsha coming to the Death Star......unlesssssssss the NFL decides to get reallllll slick and truly throw Vegas a major bone, they could make our game the NFL KICKOFF game matchup with the SB champion KC Chefs!!!!

Now thaaaaat would be delicious!!! But I digress, not even sure what the 'Kickoff' game paramaters are. But you can't deny that would be the ultimate response by the league to reward Vegas for it's incredible investment!

The NFL has recently been scheduling division rivals early in the season, no? If KC is booked elsewhere and the NFL does not want a rematch of 2018, that would leave the Dolts as the likely divisional foe. I agree, not very compelling. If not the Dolts, Brady, Rivers or Brees will get booked. Fuck the Fish.

Agree, that's a good point. And honestly, looking at the options from KC's sched there's not a whole lot of other meat on that bone. So if in fact the 'division' rivalry theme is followed, can't think of a batter matchup for the Chefs in the Kickoff game than us, and in our new digs to truly showcase Vegas right out of the gate.

That would be friggin sick!!

For context, here's the chefs sched....not a lot of intriguing games to 'Kickoff' with imo, outside of the Ravens or Bucs.

I don't expect the league is worried about whether the chefs get a home game to open, so the Ravens and Bucs are definitely options for them, for different reasons obviously. So if they determined the Ravens were the more competitive 'Kickoff' option then that would leave the Bucs to us as the next best National spotlight game for SNF/MNF imo.

The Vegas strip at night has to be giving the NFL a chubby. I wouldn't be surprised to see us open up on the second MNF game maybe SNF TNF and another MNF. Also saw on Twitter the NFL will be suspending all international games.
With the expanded playoffs and a revamped offense and defense we had better make the postseason.

I'm hearing the Europe games may be scrapped! :bananadance:

That's all I wanted to hear.

I am praying to the schedule gods that we open up on SNF. I hate the second MNF opener. Leave that the to Rams in their new digs because lets face it. Ain't nobody gonna watch that game except Lambs fans and whoever they play. Make it a divisional opponent and keep it in their time zone. IJS...

Here is what to expect:

The most travel, the longest stretch on the road, the most games in cold weather. 4 games in China, 4 games in London and our bye week is removed.

Long story short: They fuck us every year lol.

Chy-na!

Hopefully we do get to skip the overseas shit. I feel like we’ve volunteered enough for it.

Maybe the NFL actually does us a solid this year schedule wise?

Guess we will find out.

there are not going to be international games this season but even if so we shouldn’t have any we paid our dues to get Vegas

I dunno... I want to set up a trip to Vegas and see a game but this uncertainty.

Does Hooters air still fly? That’s more of a risk/ reward program

The NFL wants to glorify the Chiefs, embarrass the Raiders, yet bring attention to a beautiful stadium where the draft will be held in two years.

Saints are capable of embarrassing the Raiders. During the draft though, Peyton had unauthorized sponsors all over his living room as a dig towards Goodell. Don't think Goodell will give the Saints an easy game to begin the season.

I think they want to see Tom Brady in Tampa Bay for the first game, with all fans cheering him on. I think that is your SNF game.

Chiefs at Raiders on Monday night is interesting enough, high scoring, assfuckery for fans to rush home and stay up late.

I predict our home opener is against the Chargers. The Raiders will draw heavy from Los Angeles and the Chargers will draw a little. Want to fill up a stadium? Open that stadium against a division rival that’s super close by.

Personally I think you got it backwards. Our stadium has no issues, already sold out. It's the gurlers they gotta worry about embarrassing them with a half empty stadium, and we're the perfect solution. No other team will help to ensure their new digs are full quite like the most popular team in Socal. They may not love the idea of letting us steal their thunder a lil, but the alternative is a lot more humiliating.
