Has the NFL passed Gruden by?

give em a better qb and wideouts

I think he does lack some of the flexibility of other younger coaches but he's still a better than average coach.

He could use more PA, use more motion, change formations more. Use more trickery, deception etc.

I don't think he's our main problem though.

he's hindered by his QB and his D.

Another offseason to fix it before I call for his head...

We're still a bottom tier team talent wise and have been playing above our weight class most of the season. That's because our coaching is pretty damn good. We still have a shit ton of holes on this roster and need to have another great offseason. I hope Gruden gets rid of Guenther this offseason.

he doesn’t get any blame for that fiasco?

Well in retrospect you don’t make that deal obviously. I thought it was a good deal at the time and I thought he had AB’s back before shit got crazy.

Yes. Changing the QB will help, but this is his offense. It's average when people speak of him like he's payton or Arians or one of those dudes. he's not. Never has been.

I don't think Gruden is the problem. He sucked as a GM, and having Mayock remedies that. Gruden is pretty creative scheme wise, Carr is constantly changing plays at the line of scrimmage.

I just don't think Carr demands or instills the confidence a ball club needs to succeed. That, along with his rookie like mistakes just doesn't produce a winning atmosphere.

I did notice Gruden called that time out as soon as Carr said kill kill, in the 2nd half.

People seem to forget Gannon added 300+ rushing yards and 20+ first downs with his legs when he ran Grudens offense every year.

The game hasnt passed Gruden by...Its passed Derek Carr by.

You need to at least have the threat of a scramble drill or a QB run or the fear of extending a play for an extra 2 seconds to work a guy open.

Dude’s are getting open and he had this offense going on smoke and mirrors for a few weeks.

He’s fine.

It's hard not to get open in today's NFL. Duck Hodges is winning games with no name receivers. That shit isn't impressive. The QB is killing us, but Gruden is part of the problem too. Wish he'd hire a real OC.
