sure seems to ruin players.

I did some more digging on Paulie and it seems generally accepted that Guenther was the equivalent to Greg Olson in Cincinnati with Vance Joseph low key being the key guy that got their secondary in shape. Lots of assumption that Marvin Lewis had a heavy hand in the defense (shout out @hawaiianboy) and, even then, the results were pretty pedestrian. Lot's of comparisons to our own favorite Bresnahan and "bend but don't break" complaints. Aggressive defensively they were not. He is super close with the Grudens' though and there was speculation that he'd end up in Oakland the minute Jon was announced.

I don’t think Gruden would have a problem bringing someone else in if he feels like PG has the right players. Especially if what he does have don’t develop. It’s probably too early to pull the plug given the youth he’s worked with since about mid season last year.

If the performance doesn’t get better as the season goes on, might see a new DC in Vegas.

I don’t see him firing a friend mid season.

Gruden was playing the long game from day one he fought to get his assistants 4 year contracts so I don't see Guenther's seat even being particularly warm for another year. I guess there could be a sort of Tom Cable delayed response from the players where guys take off in their second, third years in the system. I want results now though dammit.

Fuck this thread.

Not a lot going on with the Husky DL but yet again they have some draftable DBs.

I don't like either of these guys more than Byron Murphy/Taylor Rapp...

But Myles Bryant is damn solid in the slot. Elijah Molden is the other one with NFL ability.

@alteredst8 I'm noticing footage is getting copyright striked on youtube a lot quicker now. Games I've watched are gone within weeks. Highlights yanked off the site in days etc. Its getting hard out there!

Somebody jinxed the poor guy:

Florida State junior S Hamsah Nasilrildeen was carted off the field during the first half of Saturday's game at Florida after suffering a gruesome leg injury.
Nasilrildeen (6'4/215) has been one of Florida State's best defenders this season, and the injury occurred just a short time after he hit the 100 total tackles mark for the season. With the junior safety out, Florida State has turned to Levonta Taylor to fill the void. Nasilrildeen was ranked fourth among draft-eligible ACC players by Pro Football Network's Neal Driscoll earlier this month.

That sucks. Guy was looking pretty fucking good. Dude had 22 tackles in one game. Although that number of tackles leads me to wonder how many were in his area in which he gave up a catch.
