Fuck You NFL

The Heidi Game.

It's like do you remember where you were when you heard John Kennedy was shot?

I remember where I was when they switched the Raider game to Heidi. Do you?
You bet your ass I remember where I was.
I was 14 years old. I was in my pajamas, slipped on some shoes and ran out in snow and cold to try and find out who won on the am radio in my uncles 1963 Chevy 409 Super Sport.
When I found the station I heard "And the Raiders stay a top the Western division with a ?-? win over the NY Jets.
I don't remember the final score but I know they had scored twice in the final minute.
I couldn't believe the Raiders scored not once but twice.
I was feeling great that night.

From what I read, at the eleventh hour, the NFL told him that he needed to sign a waiver which included forfeiture of rights to ever bring a lawsuit against the NFL over employment again. When his agent suggested that they’d sign a standard injury waiver, without all of the additional conditions, the league insisted that he sign the waiver that they had prepared. He refused to and that’s why he ended up moving the whole thing.
That somewhat overstates what the waiver said. That said, having read the waiver (PFT published it), I would not have allowed Colin to sign it either, at least without written clarification, i.e., that it did not remotely mean what you wrote. Not sure why the NFL objected to Colin’s proposed waiver, but I’m guessing it was an overreach from their POV too. This document should have been negotiated and signed well in advance of the workout . . . if the workout was sincere. Not hard to achieve the legitimate goals of both sides in such a document.

But how could the workout have possibly been sincere? Is a team really going to ask Colin to sign a contract that requires him to STFU and play football? And would it matter, at all, if Colin signed such a contract? What would be the penalty for breach? Colin’s days as an NFL player are over. He’s now a political/civil rights figure and Nike sales rep. Enjoy it.

Love it. Fucking love it.

But...then he had to go and play the victim. That's where he loses me.

Dude's been a dirty player since his college days. His reputation is one that he earned. Trying to turn it into a race thing makes him sound like a bitch. He comes off sounding no better than AB with this bullshit.
Best part of whole interview was using witch hunt as a verb.

I wasn’t born then. First memory was Super Bowl XI

The talking heads clamoring how Kaep is getting screwed b/c he’s better than “half the QB in the NFL,” well, below is FO’s list of QB as of Week 10. There are QB’s on that list I don’t like. But none of them I want less than Kaep.

So Kaepernick didn’t even work out? What a circus.
He did, from what I understand. Changed the venue and worked out independently as a countermove to the whole waiver situation.

I think Sleet is right, though. He’ll never wear an NFL uniform again. Now it’s going to be about maneuvering for both sides regarding a lawsuit.

The NFL is fucked in that regard. Brady and Brees are playing into their 40’s. That’s 10 years Kaep still has to sue over.

Fucking NFL making up shit to stick it to a player per usual. Yes, it is likely to see if criminal charges are brought and to see the P.R. fallout, especially in light of how heavy the NFL game down on Burfict.

Couldn't this backfire? Indefinite in this case is probably 6. Ask for a number and they might give you 16.

Ian Rapoport @RapSheet
As #Browns DE Myles Garrett gets set to appeal his lengthy suspension, one source said an argument will be that the CBA does not allow for indefinite suspensions for on-field acts. Garrett will hope for a finite number, as well as a reduction.

Wasn’t a settlement already reached?

Wasn’t a settlement already reached?
Releases don’t cover future claims based on future wronging. And it’s apparent they settled only past allegations of wrongdoing and did not pay Kaep for future lost wages resulting from future collusion.

So what, he gets to re-sue every time he thinks he was unfairly passed up for a job? Fuuuck.
The settlement could have included a covenant not to sue but apparently didn’t.

He’s just the gift that keeps on giving.
That’s why I find the stories about Kaep disingenuous. Both sides know Kaep is done. One side is playing CYA. The other side is trying to maintain Kaep’s victim status and keep him relevant.

Hopefully we can get a little more mileage out of the Garrett/Rudolph thing to keep from having to hear about Kaepernick all week.
