hmm i finished 4 or 5 last night not sure. Bet we close it out tonight. I actually wish they would only give me one episode a week so I could drag it out, but it's like a pile of coke you don't save that shit for later haha

Finish and we'll talk. FYI - more Sabbath in episode 6.

I think why I like Thomas Shelby's character so much is that he doesn't lose his shit when people disrespect him like most mob bosses on tv. He lets it go and gets what he needs done but gets even later. Looking forward to how he takes care of fascist dude. The scenes where he was talking about fucking his wife and then to Lizzy at the party... fucking great tv

man they left us hanging, are we doing to have to wait another friggin year now? Aflie back is awesome. For a second there I thought Arthur might get taken out. Michael put his balls on the table... he such a little bitch I hope Thomas hangs him by those nuts. Finn always doing something stupid... anyway good shit, just 6 episodes is too short

Yeah, damn right about leaving us hanging. I was worried about that about 3 episodes in with so much build up and only 6 total to wrap it up. Not sure how I feel about Alfie returning. I loved the character but it kind of seems like it was an unplanned response to his popularity. I guess there's some symbolism tied in with him rotting away and the whole gypsy keep moving theme. Holy fuck on the Author's "say hello to my little friend" moment in episode 5 though. That was awesome! That and Tommy's "I was going with a different plan but he disrespected my wife" line where my favorite parts to the season. Bummed about Aberama getting killed. His relationship with Polly brought some balance to the overall bleakness of the season. Overall the episodes were individually excellent as usual but it's kind of a let down ending with zero resolution on any of the plot point. And, as always... can't say enough about the score. Whoever is in charge of that should be getting an Emmy every single year.

Anyone watch American Horror Story? My wife was way into all the previous seasons but I’ve never seen one. I decided to check out this season because it’s an ode to 80’s slasher flicks, which I love. I’m not sure how I feel about it. All these shows that try to relive the 80s never capture the essence of the decade.

I don’t usually watch it but I’ve been intrigued by this season for that exact reason. Was waiting to watch it with the wife since she lives that stuff too. Worth it?

I don’t want to spoil it. This is just me, but if I was to base the entire series off this season, I personally wouldn’t watch it anymore. That’s just me though.i don’t want to get into any specific reasons lest you still want to watch it.

It was specifically the 80s slasher theme that had me interested so if that doesn’t translate then I’m probably not going to bother. Besides, it probably doesn’t have the all important boobie scene so integral to the genre lol.

I feel the beauty of 80’s slasher flicks was that they more often then not took themselves seriously. That’s the problem I have with these modern movies/tv shows that are set in the 89’s. They are too self-aware. Some great 8os slasher movies were awesomely tongue in cheek (Sleepaway Camp 2 and 3) but overall they thought they were genuinely serious.

Shit, we used to laugh watching them. I think Nightmare on Elm Street was genuinely meant to be funny. I can’t lie though, Hellraiser kinda scared the shit out of me.

I think that Nightmare part 3 was when they made Freddy more comical. The tone of the first two, especially the first one, was going for scares. I think most 80s slasher flicks were unintentionally funny. I don’t think a lot of the film makers were trying to inject intentional humor.

and not just the songs picked but the moments used. Climbing Up the Walls one of my favorite songs, loved hearing that. Not familiar with the punk stuff but liked it all and lyrics fit. Agree on Alfie but still enjoyed having him back. Damn I really wanted to see the fascist’s head come off but knew Finn had blown it. And also wanted Aberama to get his revenge in spectacular style.

Watched the Netflix Breaking Bad movie. Not bad... kinda just there to wrap up some loose ends but a good reminder how damn great that show was.

Joker.

Yeah.

Felt this movie in my chest most of the way through.

Joaquin Phoenix. I have no words.

It's almost time. :D

Eddie Murphy headlining this worries me a little bit. His films always seem to be home runs or strikeouts. No middle ground. It would be a shame if this was one of his misses.

Eddie Murphy in semi serious roles is actually underrated and this is in the wheelhouse of a role he's done well with in the past (Dreamgirls). As long as you stick to the formula with him the results tend to be passable. Can't give him too much creative license or let him get out of his lane.
