View Full Version : So...
Anyone have any targets in the 5th and 6th round for this years Lil Al?
Damn did this years draft get boring in a hurry, LOL.

this years lil al will be the most challenging one yet...
LOL, thats an understatement.
It wont be very much fun 'scouting' the combine on TV.
I assume we'll get a 3rd or 4th round comp pick but it still blows.

I suspect we'll get at least 2 comp picks. A 3rd and a 4th for Aso and Zach. Most likely another one for Gallery if he can get his ass out of the whirlpool.

Whaddayamean it won't be much fun? Get in there and do your job. Would Al Davis be at the combine if he was alive and well? You bet your ass!
Curry was a 2009 1st rounder. Sure we had our own 1st round pick, but if 2009 was like 2012 is going to be, we'd have to know what we thought of Curry before we even discussed trading for him.
Practice your GM skills. See who we'd want in potential future trades.
Come on now!

Key here is who do you "franchise" and did the new CBA revive the "transition" tag by outlawing the poison bill? I would love to tag Bush and get something, anything for him.
Also would like to trade Murphy for a mid/late round pick (too bad that means we have to play him to build up his trade value). Hopefully Curry plays well, likes it here and resigns, and Palmer agrees to re-work his deal to save some cap space so we can sign a FA. Barnes is playing for a new contract as well. So, while the draft may be slow, a lot for a GM still to do pre-draft, including perhaps extending DMac to a long-term deal.
No way I tag Bush. Whats the tag hit on a RB (A backup on our team).
I tag Branch if I need to and other than that there are no key free agents that I know of.

I like Bush alot but I think his time is nearing its end here. We can find a FA or draft another young back with a similar skill set to Bush. Let him go out and chase a starters contract. I wish the guy well but he's not worth the money, IMO.

Id rather tag Reece
If you nail a Lil Al pick this year, you really need to unplug from the net for a while. Holy shit.
Id rather tag Reece
Franchise salary for a FB can't be that much, eh? Heh. Has there ever been a FB given the tag?

I don't know if he'll make it to the end of the 3rd where our comp pick figures to be, but this dude would be a nice pick if we continue to use a rover position or multiple safety looks...

You anticipating Branch or DiGiornio not coming back? Seems like with Huffy, Branch, Mitchell, and DiGiornio, we're fairly well set, barring a defection.

I think Ndukwe sticks as well. So we're well set here. But we might have to let branch go if his market value is over our heads. I don't think it will be but never know.
Does any other team in football carry 5 safeties routinely? I mean, actual safeties. Not STers who claim to be safeties but never actually play on defense.

Mike Mitchell is safety in name only. He's our Nickel LB.
Huff isn't a safety on passing downs - hes a corner.
So with those 2 guys moving so much we need the extra body. Ndukwe sticks because he can play both positions.

Craig Roh, DE-OLB (No. 88) -- Roh is a natural pass-rusher who consistently makes plays in the opponent's backfield. He's built more like an NBA power forward and possesses the athleticism to line up at multiple positions for an NFL defense. The junior comes off a disappointing season yet offers a tremendous amount of upside. 3rd/4th Round
