Bizarre fact: In 1949 George Blanda was already playing pro ball when Jack Tatum was an infant. And was STILL playing pro ball when Tatum joined him on the Raider roster in 71. In fact the end of Blanda's pro career only only fell a few years short of the end of Tatum's. (Blanda retired in '76, Tatum in '79.)

Put another way: Blanda's NFL career was almost as long as the sum of Tatum's NFL career AND his entire previous life.

That came up in one of the interviews today,but a "Rushmore of Football". I think most would agree that Al would be deserving of that.
