He catches his share of flack, like every other 'nik does. But his track record would at least be middle of the pack amongst actual GMs.

One thing I like about him, and I try to do this myself (with mixed results), is the way he can "Yeah, but..." players like Russell, McFadden, etc. Yeah, they have some elite physical tools, BUT...

Too many people get caught up in the clay and overlook how poorly it was molded. He seems to do a better job than most in that regard.
