time to focus on football!!! there are some positions up for grabs this offseason and training camp, who wins em? lets BS...

1. QB, Obviously its Campbell, but Cable says its open.

2. RB, Once again, Bush or McFadden? One thing we do know, it wont be Fargas this time.

3. RG, I think Carlisle will be cut at end of TC. He is just not cuttin it anymore and with our shift to a more power scheme, he is too small, but who takes his spot from him?

4. RT, Can Langston Walker regain his old spot back with raiders?

5. C, Satele and Morris go at it again.

6. 2nd WR, Cable got Russell canned, could he possibly start Murphy over DHB?

7. DL as a unit, deep unit now, what will the rotation be with so much flexability?

8. Can Howard ressurect his Raiders career and turn into the LB we all though he would be?

9. Can Stanford Routt take Chris Johnsons job from him?

10. Can Huff take his job and run with it?

lets hear it!

#'s 3 & 4 should be RG and RT respectively, correct? Carlisle is the RG, Gallery is LG. Walker is playing RT, because he was pretty bad when the Bills had him at LT.

2. If DMac beats out Bush, I think that says more about Bush than DMac. (Or else that Al is still in things up to his elbows.) Bush needs to step up and seize this opportunity to be the man. DMac could be a decent 3rd-down back or slot receiver. But full-time? Never trust a RB with chicken legs!

5. C, satele and morris go at it again. Satele, its not even close.

6. 2nd wr, cable got russell canned, could he possibly start murphy over dhb?sure hope so, but it may be murphy and dhb as starters. Balsa wood needs to prove he can get through tc.

i think the even bigger battle might be veldheer vs hendo at lt

Campbell will be the starter but will be better because of the competition he received from Bruce.

This is the year that McFadden puts it altogether and shows why he was a high pick. I predict a huge year for this guy!

I don't know who our RG will be at this point but I'm going to go on record and guarantee it won't be CC.

Walker isn't going to get reps at LT...he's strictly a RT. I think he and Barnes will battle it out and Walker will be the starter at RT.

Satele will be the starter and he will be better than solid.

DHB will open the season as our #2 but will be benched again...this time by the 6th game...due to his drops and lack of impact. Murphy will step in and own this position.

The DL will look like this: Shags, Seymour, Kelly, Houston. We won't be as soft vs the run but we won't generate much of a pass rush with this front 4.

I hope so...cuz the LB corp scares the hell out of me. We've got a decent-to-solid MLB but we've got two converted DE's playing both OLB spots. This could work or it could be another Brayton/Irons debacle. This is the unit that scares me the most. I hope Howard accepts the challenge and beats out one of these guys because we need players back there that know how to play the LB position.

No, but Routt will continue to take up a roster space as he's on scholarship.

Yes, Huff will build upon the success he had last season and finally become the impact player we though he would be coming out of college. He has the tools but has been stuck playing in a style of D that doesn't allow him to make many plays. If Marshall is given free reign then this is one of the players that could benefit the most. He and Branch could become the strength of this D.

I predict a 7-9 season with a couple of hard-luck losses...but no blowouts. I think Campell has a solid year and throws 20 TD's. McFadden will have over 1,500 yards from scrimmage and Miller will get to the Pro Bowl. Our O line will be a very solid unit and Gallery will be a Pro Bowl alternate. Our D will play well in stretches but our poor LB play will give up big plays late in games.

I think we finish 3rd in our division behind the Chargers and Broncos. The Broncos will be a wild-card team.

If your predictions on offense above come to pass, we'll do better than 7-9. I don't think the linebackers will be as bad as you expect, particularly if Trevor Scott continues to build on his performance last year and Rolando McClain comes as advertised. More important, an offense that isn't constantly going 3-and-out means a fresher defense that can impose its will late in games (presuming, of course, they're actually allowed to do that and not forced to play Al's Passive Pussy Prevent).

I think 8-8 is realistic and 9-7, with a break here and there, is definitely possible.

Mcfadden needs to take a Felix jones like role while bush is our Marion barber.

I agree in that it really doesn't matter who will be the starter. For this team to be successful, both will need to have very significant roles. And they will need a lot more help from the OL than what they have received thus far...

On the OL, I also think that Walker has the inside track to the starting RT job this year. But I wouldn't be surprised to see either Valdheer or Campbell take a starting OL position by week 4 if not earlier - either Campbell at RG or potentially even Valdheer at center (a la Don Mosebar...). And I am very much hoping that I never see CC take a snap for the S&B again; I've seen enough of his ass getting bulldozed no matter how much experience he has in the ZBS.

Not neccessarily...there have been other teams to put up those kind of numbers on offense yet still finish below 500.

That's a lot of if's...not saying it can't or won't happen...just saying that I am unsure how that unit will do. I like the McClain pick but I don't think he will be an impact player like Willis, Urlacher or Lewis. He seems like a solid player...more like Beikert than the players I just menitoned.

I still think we're on the same page though...not much difference between 7-9 and 9-7 other than a couple of breaks.

I'm not feeling all the love Langston the Hut is getting.

I remember that worthless fuck from his first stint with us. He typified the clusterfuck the Shell era was.

Versus Cleveland in Oakland. We were dominating Cleveland in the 1st half. Punking them. Looking like we were going to turn a corner and become a good running team and not have to worry about passing as much in that dreaded man-fan 7-step drop protection scheme.

3rd and 1 around midfield. I think we were still up 21-3 at the time. We needed 1 fucking yard. 1 yard. 2 TE's with Zack at FB. We run off RT. Langston gets driven 3 yards into the backfield by a guy 270lbs who makes the tackle on Lamont 2 yards in the backfield.

j/k Rup. Gonna give Walker a chance myself. He's gonna prove a lot of folks wrong. Just a feeling. I didn't have lunch with Al -- honest.

Walker looked better at RT in Buffalo then he did at anytime here. If we get that player we should have decent play there.

Since I saw it live, I wasn't sure I saw it right, so I rewatched it several times when I got home. I just couldn't believe it was as bad as it looked. It was.

Didn't see much Buffalo with Langston.

I'll take your word for it he was decent.

If he's an improvement of Green, I'll take it for now.

QB- Campbell will be our QB for years to come

HB- I think Bush takes it with mcfadden being used as do everything type guy

RT- Would like to see Veldheer here and see what he can do

RG- Langston Walker or Bruce Campbell. It would be great to see Campbell have an excellent TC at this position

WR- I would like to see DHB in the 3rd WR role until he proves he can catch, his route running is not in question, just his hands

DL should look like this at times- DE Seymour, DT Bryant, DT Kelly, DE Shaughnessy but could be transformed on other downs to DE Houston, DT Seymour, DT Kelly, DE Shaughnessy depending on down and distance. Our 5 man goalline d line will look pretty stout with Seymour, Bryant, Kelly, Houston and Shaughnessy

Im rooting for Thomas Howard, but i really like Kam Wimbley and Trevor Scott
