Allegedly available for a 3rd.

WR is not a need, per se. But if we're talking value...

And, hey. Someone has to fill Javon Walker's roster spot.

Crow

And if Morrison lands the team a 3rd...

Stars. Do that aligning thing you sometimes do.

Yes please.

Done.

I make the move 100% if someone picks up Kirk.

I still make the move with our later 3rd rounder even if Kirk stays.

Leaves open the question of what to do with DHB. Personally, I know what I'd do with him, but that's another matter entirely.

Bring in Q, congratulate Walker on his stolen money, and tell Higgy Bear to give us a call when he finds his testicles. Hurts me to say it, but I can't stand behind a guy who tucks tail for two months after one hard hit.

How bout DHB straight up for the dude

BigTron

I would take Boldin for a 3rd all day. Dude is a gamer when he is healthy. He has those health questions but if we spent a #7 on DHB....

Sold!

Pull the trigger Al.

Chaz, Quan, Muphy

DHB can come in on 4 wide sets and rotate in from time to time with Murphy.

Sounds almost too good to be true.

It is so easy even a caveman would do it!!

This message was brought to you by Geico, 15 minutes or less could save you the embarrasment of drafting another 4th round CB in the 1st or 2nd round.

I'd bring Boldin in in one second, but then Al and Curly would bench him.

A lousy 3rd?

Done.

And I actually think it has an outside shot at happening, as for Boldin its all about the money right now. I could see Al giving him a Javon contract.

Isn't one of the qualifications for Al to give somebody an outrageous contract that they have to be coming off ACL surgery? I don't think Boldin has been injured badly enough for Al to throw a huge amount of money at him.

The problem is Boldin was bitching and moaning about money while playing for a winner....What do you think he'd do here on the Silver and Black if Al's not going to pay him as a top 5 WR in the NFL? Although, Al did pay big bucks to watch Youtube videos of Javon Walker getting his ass beat in Vegas.

I would love him to play here, but the dude has been dinged up for three years running and he's no spring chicken. Tough call because we can't seem to build through the draft, so do you throw big money at an unproven player and we overpay for vets who don't do shit...

Madturk

Guy has averaged over 80 catches and 1,000 yards over the past 7 seasons even with his injuries and he's only 29. The question is can we get him the ball enough to justify paying him the big bucks its going to take to sign him.

I'm of the opinion we need an established vet as our receiver corps is basically unproven.

Crow

A vet receiver, something most...if not all of us...agree the team could use.

Reliable hands. Seems as though the team has a couple guys like that, but nothing proven long term.

Highly effective YAC receiver. Chaz and Murph seem better on the perimeter. DHB, if he ever amounts to shit, will not be a big slant/dig type of receiver. Having these cats run verts with Boldin doing his best David Boston impersonation: Solid. Just gotta get that pass pro thing figured out.

Crow

And the beauty of it is that even if Quan does get dinged again, Chaz and Murph aren't exactly a shit pair of starters. Not great, but pretty decent if the team can rediscover it's ground game.

Quan makes Chaz a lot better. A LOT better.

Crow
03-04-2010, 01:34 PM
Makes you wonder if Chaz is the type of guy who'd see the way Q uses his muscle to break tackles and punish DBs and decide that he's a big enough ol' boy to do that same sort of thing.

That'd be interesting.

Nice point, Crow.

Chaz has that mentality as a blocker. Pancaked Aaron Schobel twice in a game. (No I won't stop writing that.) Chaz needs to get bigger, though, still a pretty skinny guy at his height.

But for all the Gradkowski promoters -- you really think he's the guy who's gonna make a guy like Boldin happy? I'd bet heavier oin Charlie Batch or even Russell.

Just go and hate.

Oh, and this: When I first saw this thread, I thought it was about this guy (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cbSaXAEoYvQ) and wondered what the fuss was about -- still one of my favorite plays in the past three years of college ball.

Yes, nice to dream about...

But come on, you know this isn't happening... This isn't Madden or fantasy football. You know Al isn't going to admit his mistake in taking his golden boy speedster, DHB. And Chaz and Murphy are going to get their snaps also leaving no room for another wr. Oh, and that doesn't even consider the issue that Al has no interest in a wr that probably runs about a 4.8 40 now.

But I guess this is as good as any other unrealistic scenario to keep up some interest and hope for this organization.

Bro, Chaz is a chiseled 225lbs....he is not skinny.....

Crow

I would be all for bringing in Charlie Batch. He's done some really nice work in spot duty for Roethlisberger. Could be a nice #2 behind Grads.

And, no. The Russell playing QB jokes aren't funny anymore. You can stop any time now.

225 at 6'4 ain't exactly buff. Cut, maybe. But not really what you'd consider big.

I disagree with his needing to gain weight, though. Anything that diminishes a WR's quickness or flexibility is a bad idea.

Shit, give them both of our third rounders or a third and a fourth. Looks like KC is a player in getting Quan. I'd hate for that to happen.

The Ravens appear to be the front runner for Quan according to Rotoworld

Not a fan at all of KC having Q and Bowe. If Bowe gets motivated and Q stays healthy, jesus bleeding christ. That would suck.

Done deal: Arizona trades WR Anquan Boldin and a 2010 fifth-round pick to Baltimore for Ravens 2010 third- and fourth-round picks.

Anquan Boldin agrees to a new four-year, $28 million contract with the Ravens.

Pretty reasonable deal for a player of his calibre IMO. I wonder how much of it is guaranteed.

Crow

Can't argue the value for Balti here. Really good deal if Q stays together.

Q was a pipedream for us, as anyone who actually follows the team would know, but it would have been nice.

Quan was adamant that he wanted to go to a contender and not a team in re-building mode.
