The more I have thought about it, I can just see the "old" coot right now twiddling his thumbs hoping the Rams drop Bulger and he thinks he get's himself his Jim Plunkett...No team out there is going to pay Bulger big bucks but I bet Al would shell out more coin than most and tell him he gets a shot to run the show. Typical Raider traits with the big arm, non mobile and accurate when given the time. Al could surprise us all and go Oline in rounds 1 and 3, bring in Marc Bulger and Tori Holt for Veteran pressence and think he's on to something. I'm not saying I like the move or asking if anyone thinks its good, I for some god saken reason jumped into the mind of that old bastage for a moment.....(Scary in that head) Don't think the old man wouldn't pull some shit like this....Go McButterpants, Grads and Bulger as the three QB's competing.

Marc Bulger is a better QB than anyone on roster. I don't see why not.
McFatFuck isn't going to do it and Grads probably won't last a whole season... we'd be needin Marc anyway.

Marc Bulger hasn't had success since martz left. pretty much defines system QB. no arm so no interest from al. I think Grad is a better option.

I like Grads too because he's mobile and a tuff sumanabeatch....But to Bulgers credit, when given the time dude was tossing 40 yard ropes last year. He definately has the arm, just built like a 10 year old girl. I just wouldn't want the old man to toss any major coin at him under one of his "braniac" schemes. I never realized Bulgers quick release...always thought he was more of a longer motion kind of QB.

Bulger might die behind our current O-Line.

But ASSuming we can upgrade that unit, and not pay crazy money for him, yeah, I'd like to see Bulger.

Like most, I want to see Gradkowski back and think that he should at least be in a competition for the starting job.

Russell is welcome, too, if he's in shape, takes a pay cut, and has his head on straight.
If he shows up fat and stupid, fuck him.
Done.

I think there's a good possibility that it'll happen.

Assuming JR eats his way out of the QB competition, I feel we need to bring in 1 other arm to compete with Grad, Frye, and Losman (assuming all 3 are still here). I guess Bulger could be that guy but he is a statue and I don't think our o-line would give him the opportunity to compete at a high level.

Pass... I would rather draft a new QB this year in the mid rounds (Dan LeFevour) or late rounds (John Skelton) and grow them in our organization. No need to force anyone into action. Let them learn behind Gradkowski. Forget the Early rounders, or washed up vets...

That Skelton kid is intriguing. Can't wait to see him at the Combine. Big guy at 6'5" 245 lbs. with a cannon like Russell's. But he's got a brain, and a work ethic.

I liked what I saw of LeFevor but we would ruin him or any other rookie.

I think our only hope is with a seasoned vet and we catch lightning in a bottle ala Gannon and to a lesser extent Hoss.

I just don't see a young guy succeeding here.

Obviously a rookie would struggle. That's why I say get one that we don't need to or have to play right now. Everyone expects a 1st rounder to play right away. But a mid or late round guy can be developed over a couple seasons before becoming a starter. I think Gradkowski can be a decent starter while we properly groom our QB over the next 2 seasons. Aaron Rogers rode the pine for 3 years, and when it was time, he was ready.

My point is we can't properly groom anyone because we have a new coach every year and a horrible environment. Its not conductive to learning..

In my life time I have never seen a homegrown Oakland/LA quarterback succeed.

One former Raider 1st round QB is hooked on meth and one is hooked on sizzurp. That is some fucked up $hit.

Central Michigan quarterback Dan LeFevour won’t throw at the NFL combine, which starts later this week. LeFevour could be an intriguing mid-round prospect for both Denver and Oakland.

I would definitely be on board with bringing in a QB like Bulger if we had a coach like Gruden in place with a QB-friendly system in place.... Bulger could have a run in him like Gannon had here assuming he has the competitiveness and leadership traits that Gannon had.... but then again... we have no Gruden and no QB-friendly system in place

..... back to reality. :o

Honestly, I'm not looking at any skill-position players right now. I'm looking to see what The Mummy does about the offensive and defensive lines. Especially the former. My fear is that he's going to low-ball the O-line positions and simply blame Tom Cable if Cable can't work a miracle with the current (lack of) talent. Will probably do the same with Mike Wauffle on the D-line.

Kinda lame. What's the deal? Why not throw at the combine? He's very accurate, and has a good arm. Jesus, who the hell IS gonna throw? Other than Tebow... I hope Skelton is going to throw, that guy has a fucking CANNON...

All these guys are turning into "prima-donnas" mostly from the advice of the scum agents. The thought process is they will display much more accuracy throwing to their home grown WR's or ex-team mates. I for one think its bullshit...if you're a pro, you're a pro. It's an honor to be invited to the combine. Prepare yourself, get your ass ready and go out and throw the damn ball.
