I don't know if this has been posted in one of the other threads but it is reassuring to hear him say he wants to stay a Raider. He also claims he can kick a 78 yd fg.

** One more contract item: I'm told the Raiders have been in long-term contract conversations with the agent for kicker Sebastian Janikowski, an unrestricted free agent.
Janikowski isn't going anywhere, to be sure. If he doesn't take a high-end contract, the Raiders will surely franchise tag him. He more than proved his worth this past season, arguably the best of his career and Pro Bowl worthy to say the least.
According to the Newark Star-Ledger, a kicker will get $2.814 million with a franchise tag or $2.629 million with the transition tag. An exclusive franchise tag, such as Asomugha got in 2008, bumps the price some.
An uncapped year gives teams two transition tags on top of the normal one franchise tag. So, the Raiders can keep unrestricted free agents Richard Seymour and Janikowski with tags if they can't agree to a long-term deal.

It would behoove Al to get some prozac in his system and cut the deals with Seymour and Jano now.... If he waits till the the spending spree that's gonna take place when free agency starts.... he's gonna take it in the ass. Everybody is gonna bid against each other and drive contract prices through the roof. I fully expect Peyton Manning to become the highest paid player in sports history.... and I'll be laughing my ass off when every other position gets a similar boost....
Only a matter of time til Al's hitler operation goes titties up. I can't see how he's gonna survive without a salary cap.....

Luckily, there are some other teams who aren't willing to overspend on players, or don't have the big-bucks to do so.
But you're right. It would be wise for Al to lock up his guys now, because poaching season is right around the corner.
