View Full Version : Richard Seymour on the SIRIUS Blitz
Was just on for about 5 minutes. Schein asked him once again if he ever had any reservations about coming to Oakland. Once again Seymour had to explain that it wasn't about the Raiders, the Pats, or football but about his family. Gannon asked if coming to a different defense was an issue to which he replied he was ready to play football regardless. Schein asked him point blank if he thinks that he can win in Oakland. Seymour replied that they could be 2-0 or 0-2 right now but he likes what he sees and that the team is doing the right things to get back to winning in his opinion.
Ended his quick interview with a shout out to the Raider Nation.
Good stuff...

I've been as critical as any fan of Al Davis for all the mayhem and foolishness of the last six years, but I gotta give him his props for bringing in Richard Seymour and Greg Ellis. Just need to tweak the offensive and defensive lines a wee bit more and the Raiders should be competitive in the AFC West for the next several years.

I loved the trade when it happened, and I'm liking it more as the days go by. Criticism was clearly slanted due to the Raider bias in the media because I didn't hear such outrage for Denver or Carolina trading their 1st picks next year for unproven players that I wouldn't expect to ever be quite as good as Seymour at any time in their respective careers. We'll get there as long as they keep making positive moves and shut out the outside criticism.
