Well, here we go guys and gals. Another season of Raider football. This thing, really could go any direction, depending on the way we start.
Look, we know we can beat the Bolts. We had the game won in Oakland last year til Lance went stupid.
So, here is how the season opener will go for us, in the BLACK HOLE!
JaMarcus Russell will amaze me and show that he is an NFL quarterback, tossing the rock to everyone on the roster.
Final Stats: 20-30 for 268 yds 1TD 1INT
DMac and the running game are key to this game. We cannot win if LT and co spend any amount of time on the field. But it will be alot of balls caught that really make DMac shine on monday.
Final Line:
DMAC: RUSH: 16att for 103 yards, 1TD REC: 5 for 77 (4 first downs)
BUSH: RUSH: 13att for 91 yards, REC: 2 for 10
Our recievers will see the ball, but the rookie jitters will not help. Again, Zack Miller is the cream of the crop for this game:
Miller: 7 for 88, 1TD
Murphy: 2 for 21
DHB: 1 for 37
Higgins: 1 for 25
Walker: 2 for 10 (2 first downs)
As much as I love that we have the best punter in the league, our defense really negates that in most games. That said, Shane will pin the Blots deep a few times and the defense takes advantage and we win the field position battle.
Defensively, I see Greg Ellis having a comming out party of sorts against the Chargers o line. But the lack of Dick Seymore will hurt us as we look the same against the run, but our pass defense will shine.
Scrabble gets a pick, TK forces a fumble and recovers and Rivers only throws for 180 yards 1TD, 2INT's
Summary, the game will be tied as we head into the 4th quarter. LT has lit us up for about a buck 50, but in the end, we get the ball on a key turnover with 3 minutes left in the game. Russell engineers a drive to the SD 25 yard line and Seabass kicks us to victory as time expires.
Final score:
RAIDAHS 27
SANDY EGGO 24
You have 2 REC TDs, but Russell only throwing 1.. is Millers TD coming from Bush or DMAC?

Bush. he was a QB in high school. ;)
Bush. he was a QB in high school. ;)
I just hope its OUR RBs throwing TDs Monday night and not LT :o
btw, I see what SBE did, he has REC: after the TD making the DMC TD a rushing TD..

My Prediction:
20-17 Dolts over Raiders
My gut tells me the Raiders will play well, but something stupid will prevent the win (fumble, pick, bad call, etc.). The Chargers will escape even though they were mostly out played.

Here are my predictions:
For the Raiders
1) JRuss - 19/26 256 yds 2 TD's 2 INT's
2) DMac - 22 carries 146 yards 1 TD 6 catches 55 yards 1 TD
3) Bush - 10 carries 45 yards
4) Miller - 9 catches 89 yards 1 TD
5) Murphy - 3 catches 75 yards
6) DHB - 1 catch 37 yards (the two picks will be his fault...1 on wrong route and 1 due to ball bouncing off of his shoulder pads
For the Chargers
1) Rivers - 30/35 395 yards 3 TD's
2) LT - 25 carries 225 yards 2 TD's 5 catches 75 yards 1 TD
3 Sproles - 8 carries 96 yards 5 catches 90 yards 1 TD
4) Gates - 10 catches 125 yards 1 TD
5) V. Jackson - 8 catches - 90 yards 1 TD
6) Chambers 2 catches 15 yards
Raider D
1 sack, no INT's
Charger D
3 sacks 2 INT's
Final score: SD - 41 Oak - 21
45-6 Chargers
Should be over before halftime.
LT and Sproles both top 100 yards rushing and 50+ receiving.
Rivers throws for 275 and 3 TDs just because he can, not because he needs to.
Russell gets sacked 5 times and fumbles twice.

I'd almost have to agree with this
If the Raiders staff puts together a half ass game plan and gets dragged through the mud monday night then its another long season
Can take a loss much better as long as were in the game - we get cock in ass monday night by halftime and its gonna get real ugly around Alameda
I hope the game is with 6 or 3 points. I'll feel much better about a loss like that over getting gang raped by 40 points
When Cable declared Scott the starter at RE, it went from being a sure loss to a clear blowout.

I can't believe Scott is starting at RE. The coaches can't be so blind as not to see that he was getting destroyed and is a HUGE liability. Why not start Richardson, who isn't great but also isn't god-awful.

That's going to be brutal. Hopefully he gets yanked early. I just hope to hell that Marshall has something up his sleeve because this shit could get ugly really quick. I think SD easily hits the 40's and Bones's server fries out the next day:p

We need to put one of our DTs at RE.. JRich can't handle shit neither.
I think Raider Nation is probably closest to how it will go, but i won't be surprised if it goes Crow's way. If are within 10 points i'll consider that a moral victory and look forward to KC and Denver as hopeful victories.

And better against the run!

Or the run defending DE they dropped a 3rd round pick on. There may be a lack of talent on the team, but there's no lack of warm bodies. They have to try something different.
Well, obviously they don't have to...but they damn well need to.
45-6 may be a bit harsh. SD will usually give up a garbage time TD.
I'll go official and call it 45-13. I'm not sure who on the offense actually has the ability to reach the endzone without a police escort, but someone is bound to.

Holy crap... We give up 700 total yards on offense but only 41 points? Our defense is improving... :pound:
I'm not one that believes in visualizing losses... We match up better with them than we did the Saints so I think we'll give them a game... Our lack of depth and that we have a young roster that hasn't learned to win yet will probably be our downfall in the 4th, but I'm not ready to crown the asses of the Bolts just yet...

If the Raiders have two 3-and-outs to start the game I think it could be a double digit lead by about ten minutes in.
They've got to at least get some first downs early. I'm not seeing that in my crystal ball.
34-13 Bolts.

Calling the upset. X - you're not the only believer around here.
In a tough, hard faught contest we come out with emotion and run the ball, control the clock, play just well enough on defense and minimize mistakes. Cable's pre-game speech about how this shit ends now sinks in.
Oakland - 16
San Diego - 14
RaiderRobert
09-11-2009, 01:31 PM
I'm calling upset too. We had them last year and blew it in the 4th. I think we are MUCH better than we were last year at that time, and I think they are NO better than they were. If we can control the clock with our run game, limit mistakes, and can connect on a few big plays instead of blowing opportunities, we can pull this out because they will be over confident. I think we are the hungrier team. 30-23 Raiders...

Well SD's OL is somewhat suspect. It's definitely not what it was a couple of years ago. Zona sacked Rivers like 4 times in the first half of their game a few weeks ago. I think we can get to Rivers. I'm just concerned that he may not have to pass all that much.:shakehead:

We will give up a lot of yards but the drives will all be long so it will eat up the clock...hence, only he 41 points. It will be more if we don't keep the ball long enough to score ourselves.
I've already crowned them. They are the cream of the division and it's not even close. They have more talent on both sides of the ball at this point. They are more consistant and they have a clue what they are trying to do on both sides of the ball.
I think our offense will surprise people this year...especially when Schillens is healthy and Walker gains the trust of the coaching staff.

its going to be a all out war, 24-27 Raiders praying to god, If we jump out on them in the first half like we did that 1 game 15-0 last year then blew it in the 2nd half. we can win if the defense holds, because the offense is explosive. The Raiders can handle them this year dont let pre-season scare you. because the raiders went 4-0 then 3-1 in the last 2 preseasons. now we where 1-4 or something. Good, the loosing is over crank back into it with a win. because after we do beat the chargers, we can win the next 3 games, and have a solid hold early over the division.
I pray the suprise of the night is the play of Chris morris.

If that doesn't happen, I don't like our chances.

The negative's are obvious and we hear & seem them everywhere.
Fuck It.....SD turns the ball over as someone else alluded too, Norv Turner coaches like, well, Norvell Turner, The Raiders play some inspired ball and win on a Sebastian Janokowski FG from 47 yds to win this Mother Fucking game.
SD will have better stats in all categories except turnovers and the W-L column.
The entire world, hell half of "Raider Nation" is talking continuous shit, we need to separate the loyalists from the cowards. The time is now.
Fuck it, can we get a collective RRRRAAAAAAAAIIIIDDDDERRRRRRRRRSSSSS going.
P.S. they all go out, party their fucking assess off and bang hot chicks like Tila after the VICTORY. Bwahahahahahaha

X- so you are the guy making all the picks? Can we hang you upside down from a tree and beat you with a pillow case full of soap?
Just kiddin man... New prediction now that Sey is gonna pley-
Raiders fired up. come out swinging and have some tricky shit in store for them fools. score 10 points in the first half. Keep Bolts out of the endzone for 6. Then we tough it out in the second half and score another field goal. SD puts a drive together and ties it up 13-13
with 5 minutes left JR and co orchestrate a drive to get down there and kick a long field goal.
SD gets the ball back with 2:30 and is moving the ball but around the 50 the pocket collapses around Rivers and he gets stripped for a fumble. Raider 16 bolts 13. There it is.
ok, don't really think that will happen but if it does that's how i think it will go down.

DK & all the Nation will respect the picks, they will earn you guys respect. I promise you that, The strides JaMarcus & Hackett are making my god are beautiful. Russell will be the Quarterback that gets us our championships we have long for.
Darren mcfadden, Marcus Allens Personal favorite player, besides AP.
DHB the last Key to the offense one of the most Dynamic Receivers in the game. Thats why he earned Top starter position, its the lil things he does and the fast learning. Though you didnt see it alot in preseason. Its coming faster than you think.
I dont give a damn what a "realist" says what a "Positive" say's. Its Oakland Raiders time. The Raiders The Path back to Greatness and a beautiful Dynasty has started. We are working our way to our 4th trophy.
May god bless us all!

No reason the raiders can't win, and getting Seymour helps. Maybe a lot.
The right side of the O-line, however, is still Cornell Green and Cooper Carlisle. Gotta believe that's keeping Cable up nights. Watching those two play, especially Green, reminds me of a great line from a half-decent flick:
Don't look at me, look at the people next to you! Nex... Look at the... - well, turn the wheel! Pull over, pull her the hell over! [shuts car off] Don't touch nothing! You can't negotiate turns. You can't signal properly. You can't maintain speed. You can't parallel park. Hell, you can't drive, honey. Shit, I can't swim, I know I can't. So you know what I do? I stay my black ass out the pool!

Nah, just often. Rotate that with Harley Davidson and the Marlboro Man and a few others. Not doing Netflix yet. Probably this year. Intially, I'd imagine I'll OD on TV shows I miss that aren't on the air much anymore. Getting old and all that.
