Ryan Fowler MLB - Cut by Titans (Would give us depth if not a starter in the middle)
Alphonso Boone DT - Cut by Chiefs (Vet presence known as a run stuffer)
Marcus McCauly CB - Cut by Vikes (Has all the Raider measurables and we need a 4th CB in the worst way)

Melvin Fowler C - Cut by Cards (We talked with him before he signed with the Cards, could he be worse than what is on the roster?)
Tony Pashos T - Cut by Jags (Green is the weak link on the OL, I think Pashos would start from day one)
Kynan Forney RG - Cut by Chargers (Has a history with Cable in Atlanta, lost out to a rookie for the RG spot in San Diego)
Jamon Meredith T - Cut by Packers (Rookie 5th round pick, we had a few pre-draft visits with the athletic tackle from South Carolina, worth a look)

Regardless of what Jack says - Fowler is a decent MLB - certainly better than anything we currently have

I'd go hard after Forney and Fowler

That would really make my weekend with this Seymour trade

If they sign Forney and Fowler this team has just improved about 25%

I'd be down with Meredith as he was projected to go as early as the second round. Seems like an athletic type who'd fit this scheme. Not sure what happened with him this pre-season but if he ever develops into his full potential would be a real find. I have a feeling KC or someone ahead of us will cock block us.

I'm pretty happy with Mario at LT, we will see how he does this year, but so far everything seems to be just fine.

Morris at C??? I don't know what the hell is going on with this. Morris hasn't played at all that I have seen, and I thought he was just a versatile guy because he could play 3 spots. I'm scared to death with this...

Carlisle and Green need to be replaced immediately. No way Barnes goes to RG. He doesn't even want to go to RT. That's why I'm thinking Pashos. I don't know who is better than the other, but let's find out. Winner is our starter over Green. See if the loser wants to challenge Carlisle, or get waived...

Somebody said Lydon Murtha was released, I'd like to look at him or Jamon Meredith as well...

Not right now. But he is a perfect fit for the ZBS and worth a spot. He can play G too.

Only b/c Cornhole has exp and can run block at a good level.

He's played a ton. Aside from starting at LG when Gallery was healing.

I was talking about at C... How does him backing up Gallery at LG help him get ready at C? Preseason games 2,3, and 4 Satele played the entire game practically.

Naming Morris as the starter seems to me as a game to motivate Satele, or worse, feels like a blind devotion and stubborn mistake like Kwame Harris...

I'm very scared about our C...

Morrison is smart and has been in the system since it was implemented. He will know his assignments but I am not sure he has the talent to execute them. Which is an upgrade over Satele who didn't know his assignments and couldn't execute them.

I like Hendo at LT too but the knock on him is his run blocking. Pashos excels at both which is why I say move Hendo.

Hard to imagine that a LT who was a projected second round pick would be WORSE than Green. He certainly can't be worse than Eric Pears, who couldn't even beat out Cornell Green.

So, yeah, I sign him and cut Pears.

But with Barnes at practice today, I wonder if he got any work in, and if so if he's had new thoughts about playing RT.

No, that would be Cooper Carlisle. The Raiders have acknowledge Green is not up to snuff, but don't have anyone on the roster to replace him. (And that is a problem, yes, because it has been obvious for two seasons that he's not the answer there.)

But there has been no such acknowledgement of Carlisle's deficiencies.

I'm going by what the people here in Jacksonville say about him. The word is that he was cut due to $$$ issues that the Jags are having, not his performance. He refused to take a pay cut.

Right, but his money wasn't too outrageous ($ mill or so?). Basically, they are saying we can get the same performance from some guy making peanuts.

It's not. And any team, I don't care how many seats they are covering with a black tarp, doesn't let a good OT go that' making that little.
