Loved the intro Eddie. My only suggestion would be throw some Raider sound bytes in there maybe a little John Facenda, some old Bill King clips.

Sounded a little too much like Jim Rome in the "Bang the Phones" thing.
You'll eventually get a collection of regulars, but you might want to set up a couple guaranteed calls before the first couple games. You might have to bang the phone yourself during halftime to get a couple guys to start the show off. You'll need someone to disagree with your opinion, some unvarnished ball-washing, and a little hating too. You gotta let potential callers know all opinions are welcomed.
Further, I'd try to distance yourself from Rome's schtick as much as possible, without avoiding the formula. (Yeah tough as shit to do.) But you've got your music backround. See if you can make that terminology work. Shredding, riffing, getting into a groove, whatever. Make it your own without making it so fucking wierd or pervasive that people tune out thinking it's about music and not Raiders. It's also football, so bring on the heavy hits and steppin out of bounds. Start him or bench him as opposed to Rome's "Rack him." Again, you can emulate the formula in your own specific way. Retire numbers, enshrine him, or break out the mustard. And damnit, every song (game day) needs a NIPS lead. Don't play second guitar to anyone bitch! If someone's really tanking, have him hand in his playbook, or put him in street clothes.

I did remake of the autumn wind a few years back that got alot of praise from Raider fans, working on a newer version now that I update my studio
Got contacts with a couple current and former players I'm hoping to get on for a couple interviews. The 1st show is crucial and I agree - thats where I need help from you cats - once the ball starts rolling things will flow. You guys are more than welcome to pick a game and jump on air with me - bring something new to the table-

No, you don't suck. I'd call. Likely not every week.
I'd seriously lose the "science fiction" line, unless you think the Raider Nation is only male, but that's just me.
The Zep goes on for a little too long all by itself -- if there were any way to mix in a game call, something... (Yeah, I know, legal issues with game calls.)
The only real suggestion I have is to really try to get some people with regional accents onto every show -- proof that Raider Nation is truly national. More markets get on, more boneheads gonna be telling their friends to listen ("I was on the RADIO!!!!!!") But you clearly know more about this than I do.
You don't want me to co-host, though. I tend to be as long-winded in life as I am on the board. (Cue jokes.)

1) Not at all...but I will say that you sound better when you use your 'normal' voice as opposed to when to try to do the 'shlocky' dj bit. Be yourself and be natural.
2) Sure would...and I will.
3) Yeah...would love to co-host. From the posts it would appear that we have enough differing opinions to make it enjoyable for the listeners.
4) LOL...yeah, I would do that too.
5) An hour is a good place to start. If callers want more you and always add time. Plus, you're gonna find that an hour is tough to do at first. Get comfortable, work the kinks out and then add when you see fit.

I think btr let's you keep recording after your time runs out, so you could archive 2 hours from a one hour show...if it suited ya.

Thanks brotha - be sure and call in and talk to me about the games - Gotta a couple ins on some former Raiders to join us- See how it goes - Ted Hendricks for one - Did a show in Miami a couple years back for the Miami game and he hung around while everyone left and was shooting the shit with me while I was breaking down the equipment - And he signed my Les Paul after the show - My singer is a Steelers fan and we had a few good laughs about the immacualte reception - Real cool guys - runs a benefit for homeless children in S. Florida but lives in Chicago - I think thats what he told me-
BTW - He's a tall MF'er!
