Humble man/ awesome story. Some of you may not like this video, because it involves his faith. I don't think this guy is soft at all. I just think this guy is a leader and will be a great influence in the locker room.

He was the one vet I wanted in the mix, and I still don't think you trade Burgess.
he's always been a good DE, and Dallas kind of fucked him when parcells came in because he had to change positions to the unnatural 3-4 LB for him, where he still was productive.
they can either work in tandem or rotate with Scott and richardson.
When you add a good player, you don't automatically need to be looking to get rid of someone. Despite his liabilities against the run last year, burgess has been our best pass rusher when he's on the field.
We need that....we need everything we can get to turn this ship around.

I'm with ya. We need sacks and a lot more pressure on opposing QB's, and if we can get it, we'll win more games.

I'm for keeping 5 DEs (Burgess, Ellis, Scott, Richardson, O'Shucks). If two of the following, O'Shucks, Gunheim, Sulak and/or Gray realy surprise, then I'll be fine trading Burgess, but otherwise, I'm for keeping Burgess and having Gunheim, Sulak on the practice squad.

I think Greg Ellis solidifies the DE position and gives the Raiders insurance if Derrick Burgess checks out mentally before leaving physically in free agency. What concerns me more is the DT spot, where we seem to be standing pat.

Well speaking for myself and no one else here I like the "I am second," videos. I think it's a great vid and I'm glad the Raiders have Ellis aboard.

If the scheme is changing, and our DT are asked to penetrate and disrupt (coupled with a new dose of discipline in controlling their one gap), we might get better results from our DTs (I hope). The key will be putting an 8th man (SS) in the box and having a FS that can play centerfield, effectively (something we haven't had in a while).
Kelly, Warren are both good at penetrating/disrupting, although neither are good at holding 2 gaps, and both seem to lose gap control discipline during a game. This is where better coaching (Board), I hope, can make a difference. Board's biggest impact, though, might be finding Joseph's game. NYG's saw something in that guy before releasing him.
